Not good....Ok ..this is my third time stopping for bread and bagels over 3 years...each time I've received stale sourdough bread and bagels....so disappointing ...not stopping again...whole foods has fresher bread and Noah's bagels is much more reliable for freshness

This is the only place for gluten free breads and pastries! They picked up where Breadblok left off. I actually have to drive 3 hours to get to the Santa Monica location but it's worth it! And try the vegan sausage and vegan bacon on your bagel. It is life-changing. They do not shy away from spices, seasonings and fermentation. I really appreciate all of the work they put into making gluten free amazing for their customers. Cheers to Modern Bread & Bagel.

I just tried Modern Bread for the first time yesterday!! Did not disappoint. The chocolate zucchini bread is to die for! I also bought a loaf of sourdough and OMG I can eat bread again! I highly recommend this bakery!

LOVE this place! Best gluten free bagels I've found in LA. I get a bagel sandwich and coffee from here at least once a month. The Big Show, Morning Stretch, and Za'atar Tuna sandwiches are my absolute faves! Highly recommend.

I was in heaven walking into a fully gluten free bakery and being able to choose from everything! I'm pregnant and I've been having cravings for croissants and pastries so I had to come up here and suck up on a few treats! Shared the cinnamon roll with my friend and it was so good! Also tried a croissant which was a great gluten free alternative with a buttery taste! Wish I had gotten another one to bring home because I think it would be even better warmed up! Got a matcha latte to drink and it was great! The customer service was wonderful! There's a quaint out door area with seating next to the building to indulge in these baked goods!
Highly recommend for fellow gluten free diets! My friend who isn't gluten free still really enjoyed it too though!

Love this place so much and so grateful it “followed” us from the UWS of Manhattan to right up the street in Santa Monica! Can’t ever be further than a block away from the gf chocolate zucchini bread or the phenomenal gf bagels!💞 😂

I was really disappointed with the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich here. On a Saturday morning, I expected fresh bagels, but they were rubbery and not fresh at all—despite the cashier insisting they had just been baked. The bacon was more like thin, brittle crisps than actual slices, and the eggs tasted bland and microwaved. If you think this is the “best bagel in town” and your new favorite breakfast spot, then you don’t know what a real bagel tastes like.

We snuck in right before they closed and bought up much of what was left. It was so delicious! We enjoyed our treats the next day while traveling home.
