Stumbled across this restaurant prior to going to an event next door. The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. Great place to bring a date or have a friends get together. The sushi and sashimi tasted delicious and so fresh! Our server was super nice and gave us great recommendations. I would definitely come back here again!

I've tried this place on 3 different occasions, ordering different items, with the hope that it would live up to a sliver of the hype it receives in Santa Monica. I'm sad to report that it has received 3 strikes and is out of my consideration for a future visit. I've had the nigiri, sushi rolls, udon, and chicken teriyaki. Sushi tastes no better than the below average cheap sushi you get from the grocery store but expensive prices ($15-20 per roll on average). I think the mall food court makes better chicken teriyaki. Flavorless and dry. On top of the terrible food, this place is stuck in the March 2020 pandemic with the way they handle guests coming inside the restaurant to ask questions or pick up food. Every time I've come to pick up take out, I see my bags on the table inside, walk in to pick it up, and am quickly screamed at to wait outside. No one ever comes outside to check on anyone so how else am I supposed to pick up my food? The wait times for online ordering are also so inflated that the food sits there cold for 45 minutes. Plenty of better sushi spots in the Santa Monica area for the price. Better off sticking with sugarfish or kazunori (which are wonderful) to itch the sushi craving. Head to sawtelle for much better Japanese food.

Great spot! Fish was fresh and staff was very accommodating and polite. Had a great variety of fish and veggie selections. Was sad to see this spot was not a higher rating because I feel like it was overall a great spot!

Great sushi, great service, and great ambiance! I usually order the Sushi Ensemble or the 3 item bento. The jumbo scallop nigiri and their shrimp tempura are a must. No complaints :)

My friend recommended this place to me and their menu is very large! I got their bento box for dinner and it was just perfect and so much food! Service was great! Very attentive and informative. Parking is however limited, they have a shared lot that is rather small. You can also find parking on the street with the meters. I will definitely be coming back for lunch!

So rude. From the moment I sat down - the host was pushing me out. After ordering close to $250 in sashimi and sushi - they gave me 15 minutes to eat and leave. If you are not going to allow diners to eat and enjoy their meal - you should not seat them and say it is last call! Last call is what this place is to me - never again.

Fire!! Good service! Bomb Food!! Chill Vibes!! Everytime I come here we get treated very well and always leave full and satisfied. The dim lighting leaves a very calm and mellow vibe. Perfect atmosphere to decompress and relax while eating the best sushi on the Westside !!

Best sushi in the area!! Creamy spicy tuna crispy rice is the best & I love the fantasy roll.
Nice traditional Japanese Restaurant Style interior. Feels like you are in Japan a bit. Sushi was fresh and excellent, and the chefs are in the top notch on the westside. Little noisy and busy during popular hours, and you may have to wait a bit, but its fun and delicious. Very professional. Try it!

This sushi place was wonderful. The food was delicious. I order 3 rolls, chicken teriyaki for my son and a mixed tempura and it was all great. The rolls were just superb. The service was also great. I have a 3 year old and he wanted a lemonade so the server whispered to my husband if we would like it a little watered down, which we did and it was very thoughtful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and it just had a nice easy vibe. It was clean, not very loud but not too quiet. When you have a toddler, you never know how the nights going to go lol so it was nice that the restaurant and food were great.

Delicious and fresh sushi! I love getting sashimi or churashi - but the udon noodle soup is actually also really great. Sometimes it can get pretty busy, but service has always been great. I do think some of the tables are closer to each other than is ideal, but it still works.

We've been coming here for years. It's my wife's favorite spot for Japanese food in Santa Monica. Sadly, something has changed. We ordered 2 3-piece bento boxes and had some green tea. The lunch price for this was almost $70.00. Overall, the seasonings were diluted. My wife had black cod with miso and the flavor was so slight, bland really. I had tempura with vegetables (one shrimp) and the sauce was so watery I had to add soy sauce to it. Also had the chicken cutlet which was badly overcooked. I couldn't eat it and mentioned it to my server. They asked if I wanted them to make it again and I declined. I just wanted it deleted from my check. My wife heard management talking in Korean about it. They said it would "be better for us to remake it". So after I declined that, the item was not removed from my check. We just paid with no further comments and will not be coming back. Bottom line is it feels like they're cutting corners, raising price, and the food is suffering. Sad to see.
