Came with friends for a pre-concert dinner. We had all been to North Italia locations in the South Bay and liked the food; noise was not an issue. While the food and wait staff were very good, the noise level of the space in Santa Monica, coupled with the addition of a loud music track, resulted in us shouting at each other, literally. We asked the host if the music could be turned down a bit - nothing happened. We then asked our waitress 15 minutes later, mentioning we had asked...
Service is excellent but food was just okay. Got the Lasagna bianca and Vodka Rigatoni. Lasagna was very rich which was delicious at first but it was almost too creamy after a few bites. The rigatoni was pretty standard.
North Italia is almost by go to for the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka Pasta, and the white truffle bread, the ambience is always pleasing. The one thing I will say is they lowered their portions by A LOT. I'd come hear for years and I definitely see the portions get small, I had recently went and they're was like 15 pieces of pasta, which is kind of ridiculous considering how much the plate costs, if you guys can go back to your reasonable portions like before I'll keep...
