Celebrated my boyfriends birthday at Orla! They greeted us with a birthday card and smile. It was so perfect. Our server made us feel like we were at home. The food was so delish. We ordered the saganaki to start. The honey sweet flavor made it is so deliciously different. The bread service is a must. I had the salmon and he has the lamb. It was all so tender and good. The view was perfect. We will definitely be back.
Came here for an anniversary dinner and Orla did not disappoint. From drinks, appetizer, entrees and dessert it was all amazing. Service was top notch, and highly recommend coming here.
And the view from the patio….
Came here for my birthday dinner and everything was absolutely incredible! The ambiance was stunning, the service was attentive, and the food/drink were all divine. I will certainly be coming back soon!
Truly an awful experience from Start to Finish. Our food took forever, was cold when it arrived, and the manager, Randy, went out their way to ask us personal questions about our lives just as a means to weaponize what she discovered against us. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Amazing restaurant! Had a fantastic experience visiting from France! From the moment we arrived (even with the car) to the moment we checked out, the service was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the views were stunning. A perfect spot for brunch or dinner with loved ones and friends. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in LA!
A perfect lunch.

Beautiful ambience and love the tiered flooring with a spectacular view of Santa Monica beach.

SERVICE 3/5
Decent service but for the amount of servers on deck our water, drinks and empty plates weren't attentive. Would have expected a better experience.
PARKING 4/5 $23.00 + TIP for VALET
Valet only unless you're willing to walk from a paid structure parking lot.
This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing ocean views located within the Regent Hotel in Santa Monica. We had breakfast here multiple mornings, plus after dinner drinks and dessert one night. The service was top notch on every occasion, and the food was excellent. Orla makes for an outstanding date night or special occasion spot. It's also one of the most gorgeous restaurants that we've all ever stepped foot in!
A blessing to Santa Monica’s restaurant scene. The food is exquisite and the ambience vibrant and fun. A home run experience.
Restaurantji Recommends
We ate here with friends last night and had a fabulous experience. Cocktails were fantastic, I had the Santorini Sun. Food was equally exquisite (favorite appetizer: the zucchini fritters) and so was the service thank you so much!
We had a great experience here on our visit to Santa Monica! Great food and drinks and the service was amazing. Would recommend stopping here as it is definitely a step above the rest!
the French toast and fish fry were good. I’d skip the hawashi next time.
We were a party of 10 celebrating a birthday on June 14th. We were really looking forward to celebrating a special evening at this restaurant, especially given the beautiful ambiance. Unfortunately, the service we received didn’t live up to expectations—particularly given the premium price point.
At the beginning of our dinner, our server asked if there were any allergies at the table—something that was had already noted several times in our reservation. After we reiterated our allergies, the server responded with, “Are you allergic to anything else, like a work ethic?” While we understand that humor is subjective, the comment felt inappropriate and unprofessional—especially as a group of young, respectful, and accomplished women simply trying to enjoy a celebratory evening.
Things continued to miss the mark from there. Our very simple drink orders (vodka soda and tequila soda) were mixed up. When we tried to correct the mistake and began to explain what we’d like instead, the server walked away mid-sentence before one of our guests could even finish speaking. It felt unnecessarily dismissive. The drinks were only corrected after I flagged down a manager.
We also appreciated the kind gesture of offering a complimentary glass of champagne for the birthday guest—only to later notice that it had actually been charged on our bill. While it was eventually corrected after I pointed it out, it was another frustrating oversight.
On top of that, even after asking about allergies and clearly stating that one of our guests had a dairy allergy, her dish still arrived with dairy. This was not only careless but further emphasized the lack of attention to detail.
We remained courteous and understanding throughout, but the overall service felt inattentive and lacking the professionalism you’d expect from a restaurant in this price range. The setting is undeniably lovely, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t match it. As much as I wanted to love this place, I would not recommend it—nor would I revisit.
To make matters worse, a follow-up email was sent about our disappointing visit and we never received any response, which only added to the sense that guest experience and feedback aren’t a priority here.
Went there for Father’s Day and could not recommend this place enough! The service from the minute we walked into the lobby to the end where they gave each father a chocolate cigar was phenomenal. The family style appetizer were Mediterranean and not too rich or heavy. I got the crab Benedict and the frittata were both light with a nice crisp to them. Service was fantastic and the view of the Santa Monica pier put the whole experience over the top. They also had a dj which added a nice touch but played music that worked well with the environment and didn’t take over the ability to have conversations
