Such a great hotel stay! The staff was amazing and I enjoyed the complimentary glass of champagne upon check-in. The outdoor restaurant has great views since the hotel is right on the beach. They have so many firepits that you're never cold and there are also complimentary blankets. I was actually very impressed with the hotel restaurant as well.

Amazing hotel that exceeded all our expectations. The hotel is gorgeous, located in the perfect location in Santa Monica -close to everything and awesome views. The front desk staff was wonderful, so helpful and accommodating. The valet service was quick and efficient. The food and drinks were great. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. The pool area is awesome. Couldn’t recommend it more and cannot wait to go back!

This is a true 5-star hotel in an incomparable venue! The only thing missing out of a host of unexpected luxuries was room darkening shades. My room faced towards the east. Otherwise, its the best hotel experience I have ever had in California, for sure.

Pricey hotel with extremely good food in the restaurant and nice beds in the clean rooms. Staff was mostly super friendly. We had a spacious king room and a kind of small standard room. There is an outdoor hot tub and a narrow heated pool. Nice ambience. Unfortunately we were on the 3rd floor and constant noise from the floor above, day and night. It sounded like a bunch of elephants wearing heels. I guess I would recommend booking rooms on a different floor.

We were upgraded to an ocean view room at no extra cost upon arrival! The staff here are really friendly and they even open your door for you if you drive up. The ocean view is incredible and the dining choices are good too. Highly recommend!

Just spent 4 nights here and it was great! The location is perfect! Nice clean rooms, plenty of USB and charging outlets available. The large gym has very good equipment. Another highlight is the restaurant, the food was great ( breakfast and dinner!) and an amazing happy hour! It was so good, we had happy hour twice! This is the best place we have stayed in Santa Monica so far! Definitely Do it!!!!

I booked Loews a couple months prior to travelling for a special occasion - I was planning to propose to my partner. I was communicating with the staff prior to arrival and they were amazing. When I arrived I was greeting with such friendly staff at reception and when I checked in I got the whole 'so you are the one proposing'. That made me feel special and then was told that there was a bottle of champagne in the room on ice. This was absolutely a delight. Then I liaised with a gentleman named Dylan who was the manager at the restaurant down stairs Blue Streak (amazing by the way!) and he was exceptional, he went above and beyond to organise a special area for me to propose, there were 2 high back chairs overlooking the sunset and some champagne. I cant say how gratefully I was for his help and guidance!! The hotel was amazing, rooms amazing, great reception area that leads into dining and our dinning which was gorgeous! Firepits amazing!! Pool and spa were heating which was great as we could go swimming in December!! Great and memorable experience!Extra Bonus - golden hour happy hour with drinks and nibbles!! Definitely value for $$

Xiomara at the front desk was such a delight. Not only did she treat us to glasses of champagne, but her energy was infectious. This was the first time at this hotel and I can assure you we will be back because of her! It is this kind of customer service and professionalism that sets the bar. We are very grateful to her attention to our special night out as parents. It was amazing.

It's hilarious when a business uses erroneous, archaic laws to justify their rude and unjust control of the people they aim to serve. This morning, I came to give a cupping treatment to a hotel guest having a specific issue. I warned her the night before the hotel has a policy no outside massage tables. She called the front desk and asked permission, the front desk agent said it would not be a problem as long as the practitioner was discreet and just walked straight to the elevators. So this morning, I entered and walked straight to the elevator, and a hotel staff member began following me like a pitbull rudely questioning me, "is that a massage table? Is that a massage table? " I told him, "I'm not doing a massage, just doing a cupping treatment."He sent someone to the room I went to and the hotel security knocked on the door saying, "it's illegal to have a massage table in the hotel room, you need to bring that downstairs, we can check it with the bell staff."We shut the door on them. I called the non emergency police phone line to ask the truth. The police officer said, "it's not illegal to have a massage table in a hotel room in Santa Monica. We would not do anything over that call, but if they are a private business, a hotel, it's their prerogative to what they want their policy to be about service providers in their establishment. I went downstairs to put my table in the car and the security came out with documents stating these laws in Santa Monica. I told him, "I heard it from the horses mouth at the police station that having a massage table in a hotel room in SM is NOT illegal. If you want to enforce a hotel policy, fine but stop hiding behind this BS."I mean can you imagine this hotel located in my home state of Missouri where there's old laws against sodomy still on the books? Would they force their staff to follow every gay boy walking in the hotel and surveying the sexual proclivities of every woman? This is so disgusting and an invasion of privacy to every hotel guest that walks through their door.

The location and the view from Loews are excellent. The restaurant on site was great. There was an odd order in one of the three rooms that the party was staying at besides that the rooms were clean and spacious.Rooms: Amazing viewsNearby activities: Food and beachWalkability: Multiple restaurants within walking distance.

this place is a rip off. so unless you have the money to throw around and can settle for being charged for every move you make, a dated hotel with ceiling leaks during the rain, a poorly designed shower where the water overflows to the rest of the bathroom, sewer smell coming in to your room, getting charged for things you did not use, and an overall less than mediocre experience, this isn't the place to go.parking is forced valet at 66 dollars a night. if you need a microwave in your room, an additional 20 dollars a night. if you upgrade to a suite to get a microwave and baby essentials "for free", it will be 300 dollars upgrade charge per night. long distance telephone calls you did not make plus drinks you did not consume from the mini fridge may also be charged to you per night. we complained to the hotel and they agreed to refund us on those unused services / items but as of now we are still waiting for everything to be finalized as the transactions are still pending on our accounts. they also hosted an event during our stay where the music was excessively loud I could not hear conversations I had and it was to the point if you sit through it you can develop tinnitus. for an indoor event i felt like it was louder than an outdoor music festival stage.i had way better experiences in other hotels with less stars so i don't know why this hotel deserves being 5 star. would rate it a 1 for being ripped off but because the staff we encountered here are pleasant and there are nice views of the beach from here i will give it a 2.
