So I’ve popped into this place quite a few times and was unable to get a table without a crazy long wait. So, determined, my girlfriend and I went at 5 PM on a Monday and managed to snag a table within 20 minutes. It’s such a buzzing spot and so many people want to eat there. Excellent first trip and went with the referred classic crispy chicken sandwich which was a very clean to eat item considering its outlandish size, served in thirds. Also oversized and lovely was the veggie burger, among the best of its genre. The fries are rather pedestrian considering all else and I wish they offered a stout or porter to drink but LA seems to stand for Lager Always in all the places in Santa Monica. My husband and I were in the area and decide to try a new restaurant. We took a chance on R&D Kitchen on Montana Avenue and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious (my husband got the fried chicken sandwich with a Kolsch beer and I got the chicken peanut noodle salad), and the service was great! We ate inside which was quieter than outside, and the atmosphere was lovely. We'll definitely go there again when we're in Santa Monica!
