I was introduced to Sidecar Doughnuts in 2017. I have been a fan since. My favorite donut from them remains to be the Saigon Cinnamon Crumble. It is more of a cake-like texture and I like almost anything cinnamony. This donut tastes more like coffee cake. Coffee and sugar are my staples for everyday living. So, it is almost impossible for me not to love this donut as it has my basic necessities wrap up in one perfect little package! This time I ordered the Vietnamese ice coffee to go with the donut. It didn't taste like a traditional Vietnamese ice coffee. Instead, it tasted more like an iced latte. So if you are looking for a traditional Vietnamese ice coffee, don't get it from there. Don't get me wrong, it was still good coffee just not what the name said it was. This location is off Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica about 7 blocks from the beach. I really like their packaging as well. The boxes the donuts come in are modern and simple with bold gold letters of the store's name. This location is small and has seating outside. There is metered parking on the street. Service was just okay. I wish the people working there could have been more friendly. All in all, this premium donut chain that started in Costa Mesa in 2012 is still very popular and is definitely worth trying for the first time, and going back for me!

We ordered a box of donuts: Maple Bacon, Old Fashion, Apple Fritter, and Basil Eggs Benedict and they were all amazing; soft, fresh and delicious; except the BEB which I can't review because we never got to it because we were too full. Total shame because it was the last one and it was huge. Totally my fault though, because I got greedy. The coffee was also good.The service was great. Friendly staff.FYI, since it's hard to judge scale via photos, the donuts are all quite large, especially the Basil Eggs Benedict, which was a monster.

Stellar doughnuts! There's so many to choose from, take your time to study the menu before deciding. Although, I don't believe there's any wrong choice. That first bite is like biting into the world's tastiest, softest pillow.

I finally tried the Apple Fritter from Side Car. It's only available on Fridays. It's a good doughnut, but a bit too sweet and you might want to wash it down with something as the sweetness is a bit overwhelming. I will keep trying their doughnuts until I eat them all

There seemed to be some difficulty making a decaf espresso. I had to stand and ask a couple times before it could be made. I’m left to guess that the donuts are way more important!

?️ Service: Everyone who works here was super nice! They greeted everyone and seemed excited to talk to customers. They encouraged us to try the free samples they had laying out. When cashing us out, the shop manager noticed that one of the donuts in our box was broken/split, and wanted us to have a new one. You can tell they care about quality and customer service.? Food: The donuts were soooo good. I tried their classic, famous huckleberry flavor and their seasonal blueberry champagne flavor. They were both super soft and fresh, though I prefer the texture and taste of the circle doughnuts to the filled doughnuts like the blueberry champagne one. I really liked the huckleberry doughnut. It was unique tasting and not too sweet. I sampled the Butter & Salt one too and it was also really good. I

I strongly recommend that you eat at the cafe. I bought love&salt and salted malted chocolate chip. I ate one at the cafe. It was super fresh and enjoyed the texture. But I brought it back to my hotel. It became a bit dry and hard. Please eat them asap!!
Delicious, beautiful luxury doughnuts, many flavors, excellent espresso, beautiful design and interior, good patio seating and all this near the 3rd st promenade. This place will please both the eye and your taste buds.

Was around noon and was able to walk in with no line which was cool. But the donut I got was just awful. Nothing was wrong with it but it just had nearly 0 flavor. And I don't have covid haha.

I went to the Santa Monica Sidecar location. Anytime I'm in Santa Monica, Sidecar is a must. Best chocolate donuts EVER!!! It's a small place but big things come in small packages. Their lattes are flavourful without being overly sweet and their donuts are good quality, fresh baked. Just wish there was one in the Burbank/Glendale area. If you're in Santa Monica and looking for fantastic donuts, go with Sidecar.
