I’ll be honest—Starbucks coffee has never been about the coffee for me. After nearly 30 years, I still don’t know (or care to learn) what a venti really means. But here’s the thing: it’s the people who make all the difference.
This particular Starbucks stands out because of the genuinely kind and welcoming team. They treat the place like it’s their own kitchen and serve customers like real guests—not just transactions.
Special shoutout to Cici, who is always so warm, sweet, and thoughtful. Her positive energy sets the tone and makes every visit feel personal.
Keep up the great work—you’ve turned an ordinary coffee stop into something special.

I came in, purchased a coffee. Was attempting to work a bit on a project with my laptop. The music was blaring. I politely asked the barista if she could lower the music just a bit. She said ok. The music seemed to get even louder. Very disappointing. not to mention distracting and disturbing. Will not be back.

On September 26th, I visited this Starbucks with some friends, and we enjoyed a few coffee cups. Around 5:55 pm, an employee approached me to inform me that the store would be closing in five minutes “at 6 pm”. I immediately asked to use the restroom before they closed. The employee began giving me the passcode, but suddenly, another employee loudly interrupted, saying, "Don't give it to her, we are closing in four minutes!"

The first employee seemed shocked by this outburst, and I was equally surprised by such unprofessional behavior. As a customer, I believe I have the right to use the restroom, especially given that I am diabetic and usually need to use it after drinking coffee. Instead of allowing me to use the restroom, this employee spent four minutes arguing with me, which could have easily been avoided since it would have taken me just two minutes to use the facility.

She then threatened me with trespassing if I didn't leave by 6 pm. This interaction was unnecessary and rude, especially considering Starbucks' reputation for customer service. I ended up using a restroom at a neighboring establishment, which was frustrating. While I'm not entirely sure of the employee's name, her colleague mentioned "Venica" in a hesitant tone. I have a video recording of the incident.

I hope this serves as a reminder to train employees on how to treat customers respectfully, in line with the good reputation Starbucks has built. MOST IMPORTANTLY, PLEASE TEACH YOUR EMPLOYEES THE LAW. CUSTOMERS HAVE RIGHTS, AND STARBUCKS SHOULD ENSURE THAT ITS STAFF UNDERSTANDS THIS AND TREATS PEOPLE WITH THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE.

Honestly one of the more run down looking Starbucks I’ve been to. The coffee was good and the sandwich was as good as anywhere else. The staff was super friendly, that I will say.

At op Blvd in Santa Monica Gabriella’s kindness went over and above. The patron behind me was extremely rude to me for asking a question instead of fast ordering. While I waited for my order Gabriella called mw over, apologized for the rude patron and I now am so happy for the rest of my day. Thank you Gabriella!!!

Santa Monica is the most inhospitable city I have ever visited. There are NO outlets in the coffee shops. The employees explained that it is because of the unhoused population. I think Starbucks thought this was an understandable concept for its customers but it’s actually pretty gross. This was the second location I visited in the area while here. The employees here are amazing and accommodating. I wish Starbucks had the same ethics as their employees.
