I just learned that the Umami Burger empire has fallen. Such a shame; the food was great. You will be missed

(May 2014) As per the other reviews. The burgers are completely awesome (best I’ve ever had?) and the best list is serviceable but nothing more. 9 taps and some good stuff on my visit (Goose Matilda, DFH 90) so yes the beer is very much a side show to the food and not a reason to visit in it’s own right. Can get busy and noisy.

Unfortunately it no longer exists

The manager was... He wouldn't let me sit and watch the soccer game in peace. He threw me out after two hours of sitting in. It was disrespectful. On top of that the food is over priced.

This location on Broadway in Santa Monica is permanently closed as well. I think the franchise is finished.

Not what it was… I loved Umami burger when I first had it about ten years ago. Since then, I’ve noticed a serious decline in quality. They tried to expand and got greedy, and now that strategy is backfiring.

Cannot believe this place get so many good reviews for burgers that are not as good as Shake Shack or even Carls Jr and is sooo expensive. I think my bun was a week old.

Awful quality, pretty gross and expensive

Meh. Good service, but so so slow. I waited around 40 minutes for a burger. So did the people around me. The food didn’t taste much different than a regular burger place, just more expensive.
