Every dish I’ve had was world class. One of the best places for wine in L.A. Nice house Pinot Noir! Good value - I’ve paid more for lower quality.

The year was 1982, lunch for three was $500 as I placed myself in the hands of Piero Selvaggio. It turned out to be the best thing I could have done, an experience so completely consummate that I will never forget it.

I was treated to the most beautiful handbag and matching leather wallet. I will be back tomorrow for the shoes.

This Luxury restaurant provides top service and quality food for those who deserve it. It is secluded from the rest of the rest of the neighborhood with an ultimate experience.

Valentinos is permanently closed. However, they still have a recording that list several options, one of which is to make a reservation. It would be nice if Valentino would take down their recording as they are no longer in business. Permanently Closed!

Excellent meal, bar/restaurant next door for an appy is amazing. Happy hour is the best deal going here. Literally some of the best pasta noodles I've ever tasted. Ravioli is so delicate and flavor is outstanding.

Sort of a moot point, as this restaurant is closing within a week... But as significant as this restaurant was for the fine dining scene in LA (even in California and the country as a whole) the imminent end has caused a laissez faire attitude to permeate... And while not unexpected, it's a bit disappointing. Starting with cocktails that wouldn't be acceptable in a stadium, followed by a lackluster salad and a primi of gnocchi that was sadly bland. We encountered decent mains dishes including a grilled salmon that was tasty (albeit slightly overcooked) atop a bed of fava beans and green beans that would have been great, had they not been actually cold. We also saw a decent short rib and polenta. Dessert might have been the high point with a chocolate lava cake accompanied with a pear sorbet (and an excellent Port). I have mixed feelings about reviewing a legendary establishment on its way out - and I'm glad I saw it - but I wish I'd tried it during it's heyday. Ciao Valentino!

So disappointed... I took my cousin for her 70th Birthday called the day before reminded the waiter who blew me off that Yes we got it. Well after having our dinner tossed on our table as they abruptly changed dishes. They dropped off dessert never asked us if we wanted coffee, after dinner drink or anything for that matter??? AND NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED THE BIRTHDAY!!! I wrote them a note on my receipt letting them know as they were huddle reading "The Waiter" says to us ... "Oh Sorry". Coming from Orange County to Santa Monica For this ... service was not up to par to accommodate the cost. Food had good presentation and nice complementary flavors. It's shame it was underserved, disconnected and cold. Maybe it was just the anticipation I had for this particular restaurant for this event.

This fancy Italian restaurant is located on Pico Boulevard between 31st & 32nd Street. There is a valet parking, and the street parking is also available. I was fortunate to be taken here by my company for a 20th work anniversary celebration and my rating on this review is strictly for their course meal which was served to me and my colleagues during our formal lunch. The enitire meal was excellent as their presentation was very intricate & sophisticated. And here are some of the memorable dishes I had at this place: 1. Frico (Parmesan chips) is one of the kind and it is quite unique (Potato chips made out of cheese!). Just like to say, "Wow!" 2. Maltagliati al pesto (Handkerchief pasta with almond-basil pesto) is light, yet intricately flavored (A must for those who love basil and I would like to have this one once again if I have another chance!). 3. Fresh Mediterranean Branzino with sautéed leeks and English peas is mild, yet versatile. Surprisingly, this one tasted much better than other main course choice (beef short ribs.). An ambiance is very classy so it may be the place to take your date on a romantic date. Service is excellent as all of their employees are attentive yet not annoying, and they also can provide any key details on their offerings so they know and understand their food! I was so glad to be able to visit here for my anniversary as this place will be closing at the end of this year (or end of January 2019?) as they will be moving to Newport Beach area (This information has been obtained from a couple of our fellow Yelpers' reviews.). Even though I gave 4 stars, it is more like 4.5 stars so I hope you will make the visit if you have a chance and I also like to wish my absolute best for this restaurant at their new location!

Valentino was a twist on a traditional Italian restaurant and it was an interesting and overall a pretty good dinner experience! I will be going in-depth about the restaurant below! The Service was pretty great! The waiters were attentive but not in an annoying and uncomfortable way! The food could possibly take a while but I believe it's well worth it! The cons I can think of off the top of my head is that it is very dark in the restaurant that its a bit distracting and if you can't see very well then reading the menu could be a challenge. They change the lighting from time to time but it's still so dark that some people toke out their phone flashlight to just see the menu! There was also an issue with getting our car, valeting was difficult as there was one person and many cars. It toke a while but it wasn't terribly bad. The desert options were absolutely delicious and even the buttered noodles were unique and tasty! Though what the restaurant lacked in decor and lighting it almost made up for it by the incredible food! Pricey, yet if you buy the right thing it's worth it. I would suggest to come here for dinner, I think a dark lunch here wouldn't be extremely enjoyable. If you love Italian food, you might be in heaven at Valentino's!
