I visited Water Grill in Santa Monica on April 3, 2024, with my family, looking forward to a memorable farewell dinner before my mother's departure. Unfortunately, our anticipation quickly turned into disappointment due to the behavior of a clerk named holly and jordan。From the moment we tried to secure a reservation, holly and jordan treated us with palpable disdain, dismissively claiming the restaurant was fully booked despite visible availability. They attitude seemed rooted in our poor English skills and minority status, escalating to outright disrespectful behavior. When my child politely intervened to ask holly to allow me to finish my question, they mocked us instead of correcting they demeanor.Distressed, I reached out to the management, hoping for understanding and action. The manager's response was prompt, apologizing for our experience and inviting us back as his guests. While I appreciate this gesture, the reply lacked any mention of specific actions taken against the discriminatory behavior we encountered or measures to prevent future occurrences.

The food is not bad. The environment was fine. The service was not good. I was held hostage by a server performing a bad comedy routine every 2 minutes.
Had a fantastic day out at the Water Grill and Santa Monica pier.Our table had a great view overlooking the esplanade with plenty of people watching opportunities and a great view of the ocean.Good service and we enjoyed the Fillet Mignon and Charcoal Grilled Mary’s Organic Chicken - both Magnificent !!Couple of side of the Caesar Salad and Roast Beets Salad - smashing combo with protein hits !!We walked down across the Santa Monica pier prior and Checked out the LA Breakers and did some shopping.( See Video - they were great )Then enjoyed and rehydrated at the Water grill with a great meal.Take the tip and try out this combo for a great day as soon as you can.

The food was great and the service was excellent. The waiter was trying to sell me on the sea bass. My sister order it. It was tasty and really buttery. I ordered the seared ahi. I would order it again. We also had oysters which is always great. The gulled octopus was just oaky. I've had better at Penthouse and Rooftop by JG.

Best place for Raw Oysters in Santa Monica, the considerations for variety available on the menu and quality of product. It gets super busy on the weekend, so beware. Raw Oysters from the Atlantic and Pacific. They make fresh bread hot from the oven; goes great with clam chowder. Also beware they put carrots in their clam chowder here, must be a California thing(I'm from New England). Interior of the Restaurant looks like a Wooden Ship, great ambiance for a date or business meeting.
