Update!! The wilshire is closing as the lease ran out I'm told. Brendon is going somewhere else too.. thankfully! Brendan, we love your food but PLEASE get better staff. The tubby bar man with the attitude is USELESS as is the young maitre'd.. he Couldn't organize a pi55 up in big market in Newcastle!! He told us there was roast servings when we called an hour before arriving a few Sundays ago and said he'd save us two... but when we turned up they'd ran out! --------- The wilshire could be really really good. The Sunday roasts have some elements of being fantastic. However, there is never enough staff to attend to each table. Sometimes you'll order a drink and you won't get it for 15 or 20 mins. If you don't specify that you want to order their English style roast lunches on a Sunday.. you might not be able to order one when you get there. Maybe order more ingredients just in case? And Wouldn't it be nice to have that message on booking apps like open table about the preorder? You would think. The gravy is really great.. the vegetables are great too.. the roast beef and chicken could definitely be better. If the wilshire had proper staff that didn't take their sweet a$$ time chatting to eachother and the management had around three more staff on shift.... all the patrons would have a much better experience. So close but yet...

I had eggs, bacon and sausage with some potatoes. I was informed I couldn't have my eggs the way I wanted them so I ordered scrambled. My mistake. The scrambled eggs were tasteless and the potatoes were meh so I asked for some siracha and that made them palatable. The waiter never brought my coffee so I can't rate it. I won't be back, so many other options.

I'm writing about event planning - we had an event planned for next Wednesday that was coordinated with the event person. Invitations were sent. Now received word that the place is closing down for the summer for remodeling. Why did you book an event if you knew you were closing down? Extremely dissatisfied and will NOT recommend.

The risotto was the best I've had in a while, and the staff was super accommodating. Furthermore, the patio in the back is an excellent place to eat; intimate, chill, and comfortable in the open air.

Your valet attendant is the worst. So inconsiderate and rude especially to injured/disabled person.

I've been coming back week after week to the Sunday Brunch for the French Toast Dip. The FTD is a 1" thick piece of French Toast topped with a square of fantastic scrambled eggs which is topped with a generous portion of thinly sliced roast beef which then is topped with caramelized onions and an au jus of what seems to be a reduction of French onion soup with a hint of maple syrup. My server most of the time is Trevor who is very prompt and attentive. One more thing, the Sticky Toffee Pudding is really great!

Pretty great. Amazing service. Very pretty atmosphere. The patio is just so great. And the food was terrific.

Change of ownership has not been good. Food not as inventive and not as good quality. Family style servings is basically less food at a higher price per person. Had poor experience with manager when holding a private dinner for a dozen guests. She bizzarely escalated the situation and then asks waiters to deal with you. It is a shame I used to go there a lot and hold private events seeral times year. No more.

The food was AMAZING... all the dishes were an eye opening, head nodding, this food is so bomb -dancing experience. I'm surprised at the reviews, truly... this establishment is so underrated. The ambiance, staff, timing of food, drinks, music, were all exceptional. Must get the octopus, risotto, fries, and lobster dip! Wish I had more room in my stomach to try more! I would highly recommend this place if you're trying to impress someone. The patio area feels like my dream backyard.

Food was inconsistent, the lowest denominator being the chicken that seemed boiled and was uneatable. We received and finished off our sides before the accompanying entres arrived (but it's cool our waiter explained were a big part so..). The service just sucked, we were constantly looking for someone/anyone to tend/fix things. The desert was so bad, so off from what was described that none of my party knew what it was! I don't even care that they were out of three dishes at 6:30 PM but it just feels like a restaurant that's so deep in the the dying stages that it's about to close! I made my feelings clear (all be it in a nice way) and all was the just ignored! Dave the calories and hastié le, I think there's. Coo Coo Roo from 1998 close bye! We're guessing the check will be in excess of $300 person, it's cool, we all liked the wine.

If you want the best British roast in LA come here! The portion sizes are so good and I do feel a great sense of being back home in England. I came here for the second time during Easter Sunday and I was extremely disappointed that they had ran out of roast lunch! How can that be? So please be sure to call them with your order and make a reservation.
