Fantastic grub, good cup of char and a hearty service.
As a Brit that lives in the USA the food renditions of traditional plates are very very good.
I would definitely vistit this place again...and again oh and again!

Visited more than once recently and several times in previous years, both bar and restaurant, it appears this place has gone downhill when it comes to service and attitude at the bar, to echo a previous reviewer’s comments

Food was pretty good. The service was terrible though. There were two waitresses there that afternoon and all I did was talk and joke amongst themselves never came over to see if I needed anything. I actually had to flag one of them down to make my initial order.

Indeed very British. As a European with lots of travel experience to the UK, I can say: Authentic food and atmosphere, ... inside as it's not raining so much in Santa Monica. If you had enough of Burritos and Burgers, this might be an options for you.

I was looking forward to visiting this place. The plan was to get lunch today and return next week for afternoon tea. But I don't think I will go back. The food was nice. When the server asked if I was done she then cleared my plate. Soon after she dropped off the bill. I had been contemplating getting a scone, but she then came by again to ask if she could take the bill back (implied with my card so it could be paid). Looking around, the place wasn't full and nobody was waiting for the table. But I was made to feel rushed out and unwelcome, so got up to pay and leave. When I commented that I hadn't known they would have wanted the table back so soon the server said there was no hurry and I could stay. But at this point I was put off and would have felt like a mug sitting there to relax and maybe get a scone after going through all this. I also felt pressured to tip 20% even though the service wasn't up to standard (wasn't offered cutlery or sauce for chips). In addition, the music playing was generic pop music or cowboy music. Bit strange to run an English style pub and not use any English music, from which there are excellent bands to choose from. Overall, this did not live up to expectations of friendly English hospitality.

What a throwback to mother England herself. The atmosphere truly sets the tone when you enter and the accents of the staff are delightful. The food was amazing. I wish I knew about this place sooner!

Always reliable with good service and ambiance. Tried the clam chowder as an appetizer and it was really good, better than most places that offer that. My friends and I had a good time.

Fun crowd with 2 dart boards... hubbie doubled out on the first throw.

Great atmosphere, service and food!!! Sarah is a wonderful waitress, very helpful. My mom was English so me and my sister grew up with all the different foods in the shop they have. My mom would've loved it here. Pops said the fish was just like it was in England when he lived there.
