Was in here only briefly but one of the staff was so rude I didn't want to stick around. Bad vibes

We came here while in town on the recommendation of a friend. Considering the area, the price point for the food and the portion sizes are a deal. We all got variations of meat pies and fish and chips and everything was very delicious. Staff was very friendly and well meaning;my only critique was that service was pretty slow to settle the bill, maybe they were understaffed that day. Regardless this place is worth.

I've been here multiple times and always have a pretty good experience. The staff are friendly, there's lots of seating, and I love all the cool items they have on display inside. The food can sometimes be lacking in seasoning/a little bland, but I do love their English breakfast. Their afternoon teas are so fun and cute as well! Also, the little store nextdoor is very cute and it's nice to walk around.

I understand after visiting why the low star ratings. We did not plan on visiting here but were walking around and thought how could you go wrong with a pub? We decided to sit at the small bar-I seem to remember 2 bars being there. Since we were outside for a couple of hours, we decided to go inside. The bar only seated maybe 6 people and there were two people sitting there when we arrived. The bartender was an older dude and it was like we were ghosts after he greeted us. He was not busy at all but he didn't offer us drinks. I had to ask after sitting there for 10 minutes if we could order some drinks. Hubs finished his drink before me and the bartender offered him another drink immediately. When I finished my drink, I had to ask again to order a drink. The prices were decent and the staff besides the bartender seemed friendly and chipper. The food smelled great and looked good too but we had other dinner plans so we only stayed for drinks. I really liked the ambiance of the inside but they also had seating outside on the sidewalk. The prices seemed reasonable as well.

Darts and fish & chips. That's all you need to know. And the beer... And it near the beach

One of the few remaining authentic English pubs left in Los Angeles, King's Head in Santa Monica still serves a good fish and chips ($18 for 1 pc) and an even better selection of beers in draft ($9). We tried their special Irish stew ($19) which was just standard, the gravy could have come from a packet from the grocery and the scotch egg's meat left my tastebuds bewildered. The scotch egg ($12) had too much non meat filler and an unfamiliar spice blend. I would not order it again. They were also serving English tea with the assortment of pastries and mini sandwiches when we were there at 11:30 in the morning. That seemed pretty popular. Our waitress was not hospitable when she first came to see us but seemed better when we checked out. The place is kitschy, with the Queens portrait, old flags, plates in the wall, tin ceiling tiles and beamed ceilings. A nice place to relax and have a few pints but don't expect much of the food.

Quick update: Went here this past Sunday with a friend. Had our usual fish and chips and Bloody Marys. Had one piece of their classic batter and one of their beer battered fish. Both were good but I'll probably stay with the classic next time. The fries (chips) weren't as crispy as they usually are. The Bloody Marys were perfect. We sat inside as it was late afternoon and there was no way to avoid the bright sunlight shining in your eyes if we got one of our favorite patio tables. Inside was not too crowded despite there being an NFL Championship game on the tv. If it was a Soccer game the place would have been packed! I want to give a shout out to Kate, our server. She's been there awhile and has always given us great service! I highly recommend coming here, as always!

Had a high tea birthday party here recently and it was so nicely organized and love the setting. The tea and food selection was delish and loved all the pretty rose kettle and tea cups. Champagne was handed out to the guests when they arrived and I paid for the physic to do readings. Definitely would go back! But

The most enjoyable English pub with great fish and chips and bangers and mash. Afternoon tea as well.

Had a spectacularly fun NYE party there last night. The staff as always gave 120%, they all must be exhausted today. The DJ was brilliant great collection of music for everyone. Thanks to all of you and a Happy New Year

I had the worse experience on New Year's Eve. At closing time they were rude, swearing at us and physically pushing us. We had a glass of Prosecco at dinner earlier and 1 glass of cider when we arrived so not really drink but Matt (the manager) and his thug bouncer literally threatened us at closing time. We were leaving when asked but they were extremely hostile to us. I've lived in LA my whole live (56 years) and lived in Santa Monica for the past year as a regular but will never set foot in this place again. Shocking behaviour.
