Normally I love this place, but was very unhappy with my purchase today. Spent 11$ on 2 plain bagels with cream cheese, one with strawberry. The strawberry cream cheese has an off flavor today(?). Has a weird aftertaste like a cleaning chemical was sprayed in or around it. Don’t even feel comfortable finishing after the first couple bites. The prices are already high, but with this kind of quality, that’s outrageous. Will not be returning.
Edit: manager on the phone said thanks and sorry but hung up without any concern or follow up. Unprofessional

I am a Sonoma County local and absolutely love the Grateful Bagel in Sebastopol. However the Santa Rosa location feels like it’s ugly step sister. Appears to be neglected by the owners and management.
Every time I order from the SR location, I am met with poor service. However I do not blame the three teenagers trying to earn minimum wage, I blame management for the obvious set up for failure. These kids are doing their best with the experience and knowledge that they have.
Truly a bummer watching a place with such potential being treated so poorly. I hope that the owners/management can find a better way to support their staff and ultimately give the place the attention and energy it deserves.

This place is a nice small place. I absolutely love the coffee here and the people are so sweet. I ordered a coffee one time and while heading out i dropped it and walked back in embarrassed and ordered another. The girl was really nice and made me another on the house saying that these things happen.

ok bagels, but both locations are really filthy. like, how is this place still open?, filthy. both locations frequently have homeless people begging for money or coffee. seen them smoking crack or something right outside the front door at joe’s a few times at their table. not a good start to my day. i quit going to both after i saw the fans lurking over me at both locations. i found a new coffee spot that’s clean. good riddance.

Pretty good bagel spot, but very overpriced for what it is. I’m not a fan of the no seating situation, you kind of have to take the bagel to go

Bagels aren’t really that good. More fluffy bread and proper chewy bagel. And service is unbelievably slow. Takes 15 mins to get an espresso drink made, and I’m not sure they have anyone in there that knows how to operate an espresso machine.

My children start their weekend wanting to eat at Grateful Bagel. Always extravagant with avocado, seeds, fresh cool cream cheese. Delicious!
