I don't usually leave bad reviews, but my stomach hurts. I ordered $100 worth of take out to sample the most popular dishes, all of which was very disappointing. The food was bland, unseasoned, un-salted, not spicy, soggy, and extremely oily. I tried removing the excess oils and saving what I could, but I feel nauseous and have a terrible tummy ache now.

Really good food butt very expensive. The outside is misleading to the caliber of food here.

I don't eat beef or pork they family dinners are heavy in pork/beef. If you don't have diet restrictions then your dinner options are much better.

Expensive for the portions that were given. Food is good for Santa Rosa.

So much of the menu looks good you can't go there once, makes you want to go back for more or to try something different.

Excellent dim sum menu! Loved the pork in black bean sauce and the turnip cakes. Have eaten here twice now.

This review is based solely on some of their dim sum from their dim sum menu and not the meals from their main menu. The other reviews on this site also cite being frequent customers and nostalgia. I do not have that bias.

Due to current economic conditions, I've noticed many businesses practicing shrinkage, especially when that shrinkage can be hidden -- such as fillings in egg rolls and dumplings. That was no different here. It was very obvious in their baked pork buns. Stuffed with less than a tablespoon of pork filling. I also noticed it with their chive dumplings, both steamed and pan fried. The siu mai were standard size, but quality of the pork filling was rubbery-tough with gristle. I had to floss my teeth for that. The flavors for all the dim sum were on point and I did enjoy their tofu skin roll. While I wish I could say I had a better meal, that wasn't the case as I couldn't get myself to finish all that I ordered.

We often ate at the original Hang Ah restaurant in SF back in the late 1960's & early 70's. Moved to SR in 1973 and were floored when Hang Ah opened in the old AW building around 2008???
Best authentic SF style Chinese Dim Sum hands down in Santa Rosa.

I always enjoy the food here. It's some of the best Chinese Food in Santa Rosa and everything tastes authentic, good, and always freshly made. There's always plenty of parking, never too busy, and the service is impeccable. My favorite part of the restaurant is the bright pink Hannah Montana clock behind the counter, really brings the whole place together.

We eat out a lot, and while I enjoy great food I am rarely surprised by it. (I know, that sounds douchey but just being honest here).
Today was my first time at Hang Ah Dim Sum and, wow, I was surprised.
I have mostly given up on trying to find good Dim Sum north of San Francisco, but I just found a new, go to place when I am craving quality, tasty, fun-to-eat food.

The space looks like a converted Dennys, but is not cheesy or weird, just simple and clean.
The service is all business, polite but no doting and pandering. Just going to politely take your order, fill your water and move on.

If you are looking for fine dining in Santa Rosa go to Starks and John Ash. If you are looking for hot, tasty, hand made in house comfort dim sum at a very reasonable price. come here. It is truly fantastic. I will be back over and over again.

(Sorry I was too excited to take pictures. Here is one steam bun)
