Hook & Ladder Vineyards & Winery

We were visiting California but were concerned about stopping at a vineyard with a 13 yo and 11 yo twin children in tow. This was the perfect place. Relaxed atmosphere with nice wines and the kids were completely fine (big sigh of relief)! Highly recommend for adults wanting to experience a bit of California’s wine country and a reprieve from all the kid oriented activities.

We visited this winery during our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. Kaitlyn conducted our wine tasting—she was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience engaging and enjoyable.

The tasting itself was great, and the outdoor area is absolutely beautiful. We loved sipping wine while looking out at the grapevines. Tastings end at 4pm (even though they’re open till 5), which we actually appreciated—it gave us time to enjoy everything without feeling rushed.

Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

Going to Hook & Ladder on a warm spring day is pretty much what I think it must be like to die and go to heaven. It's just one of the most perfect places on earth.

Excellent tasting. We stopped off and walked in without a booking and had a 5 wine tasting including an excellent pinot noir all for a very good price. A great family run winery, with excellent wines and very good info about the wines - would recommend stopping here instead of the bigger wineries.

Great staff, amazing space for dogs, adults and well behaved children. The Forows Merlot, and Pick and Shovel Zin are amazing!

What a hidden gem! This cozy winery offers something special almost every Friday, whether it's live music or comedy—they always have a fun event happening.

The atmosphere is so inviting, it's the kind of place you'll want to return to again and again. The staff is incredibly accommodating and provides a truly personal experience.

And the wines... So light... So smooth you could and can drink them all day. The Pinot Noir's are simply perfect and should be sampled if you are on the fence about what to get.

What I love most about Hook & Ladder is the unpretentious & down to earth vibe.
There are some superb wines to taste- I’m a big fan of their reds. There are also some excellent products to purchase- I love their firehouse hot sauce.
The outdoor space is beautiful- redwood trees, red Adirondack chairs, a bocce court and fabulous unobscured sunset views.
There are many fun events to attend here- Friday night music with a food truck, yoga in the vineyards and the Book & Vines author Sundays.

We showed up on a whim and Devon welcomed us openly. We were able to bring in our own food and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The grounds are so relaxed and lovely. We got an extra wine added to our tasting and it was a great day. I highly recommend this place. They were cool, fun, knowledgeable and great people!

Awesome little winery. After our tasting (Catherine was great!), we bought a bottle of their gewürztraminer and played bocce ball. So fun!

Nice vibe and a good spot for wine tasting. They had a fixed menu (you don’t get to choose) and for a hot day they have picked one rose, two whites and two reds.
They have plenty of spots in the shade, and you can sit indoor as well. Some outdoor games are also available.
We had kids in the group and they were happily running around as well.
Food options included a vending machine that serves cheeses, meats, crackers, nuts etc

Wine is good. Tasting is not worth it as the pours are so small. Just get a bottle and share.
