It would be cool if the boats were being utilized for food. The top part (a conveyor belt) was functional and some of our food came to the table on jt. Overall the food was okay in an area without many Japanese cuisine offerings. If I was around I'd come back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come. Nice staff, OK service (we came during a busy time). Restaurant was clean.

Food is always good. Always busy when you go so the wait is unpredictable. Would recommend calling and reserving ahead of time. Has a lot of unnecessary decorations, but that seems to be the theme in SR.

SUPER GOOD FOOD. The staff is also friendly, with the exception of the robot delivering food. That felt weird.

I love this place! Sushi is always a kind of personal choice, and is see people post glowing reviews of places I won't eat. Then, there is Kiraku. I go here a lot. We call it Robot Sushi, because they have robots, and you order with an iPad that sits on the table. The food comes out on a race car to your table - fresh from the kitchen! It was a revelation getting a soft shell crab roll that was still piping hit from the frier! What you get on exchange for service are the hottest, freshest sushi you will get in the area. We love the fish, but they have potstickers, ramen, soups, killer rolls, and other favorites like hamachi kama (yellowtail collar). The service is a little lacking and slow, but the kitchen is on point and you can pace your meal how you want. I really appreciate the quality of the food here. Dont go near closing though. They have regularly run us out with the cleaning fluids as early as an hour before closing - nothing goes worse with sushi than lysol... Other than not going there near closing - Kiraku consistently delivers deficits food - it is one of my local favorites!

We had a wonderful experience here. Kids loved the robot and conveyor delivery system. We all loved the food! Yum

Looks can be deceiving. This is a strip mall Sushi place that I didn't have high hopes for, I was just hungry. Much to my surprise the food was wonderful. I have not tried others in the area but I would highly recommend this place.

Very cute concept and design. Excellent food. A little pricey but worth it. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

We loved this spot. The rolls are delicious and tasted fresh, the tempura was crispy, and everything was reasonably priced (perhaps a little high for some items, but otherwise manageable). The race car delivery for sushi and the trolley of toys rolling past throughout the meal was simply cute for us, but an endless supply of joy for our 7yo boy who now begs to go back. Overall a great spot, especially if you have a little one in tow.

Kid-friendliness: The racecar delivery of the food is entertaining, and the carousel of chotchkies is fun to watch.

It's a beautiful thing that there are so many food options to please everyone's needs and palettes. Food was delicious, zero complaints. We ordered 3 rolls, miso soup, and the jalapeño pepper bombs. The rolls we ordered were the Toro King, Sweetheart roll, and First love. We are spice lovers so I expected the toro king roll to be the fan favorite of the night but my favorite was actually the first love roll with shrimp tempura, spicy salmon, and tobiko. The toro king has jalapeño, mango, asparagus, yellowtail and toro. It felt one note oddly enough. The sweetheart roll was yummy as well and a pretty presentation as it comes out shaped in hearts on the plate, (aww). One complaint is that it felt like almost every roll had cream cheese in it. It was hard to pick varying flavors when so many rolls sounded the same. If I come back it'll be for to-go. We sat at the bar, didn't have to wait for a table which was nice, and the food comes on the belt in front of you, very snazzy. I'm not so much a bells and whistles kind of gal. You order on the iPad, food comes accordingly after you place the order. This is where it all goes south for me. There is zero service in any other capacity. This was like a 1.5-2 star dining experience but since the food is good it gets leveled up. If service had been where the food is, this would be a 4-5 star rating for me. I'm shocked this is rated higher than some of my favorites in town, but maybe people like the bells and whistles. Me, I like service during my dining experience. We had to flag someone down to get tamari, one guy didn't even know what I was asking for (yikes). We pressed the button on the iPad to get someone's attention after we had already flagged someone for a box and the check and still sat there unattended for at least another 15 minutes. Don't make it hard to take my money, my biggest pet peeve when dining out. I was super disappointed how heavily this place relies on the technology of the ipad, the service belt, and the robots inside. It was loud and I guess just not my vibe. Meh overall for me and not worthy of a repeat when you combine the cost (inflated) and lack of service overall.

100% Recommended, the food is delicious, regular price, good atmosphere, good service, it is well worth it, you have to go there looking for sushi and ramen because the soups are also exceptional.

Best sushi ever! Impressed it was delivered in a reusable, sealed insulated bag. Squid Salad was phenomenal! The Atomic Shrimp Roll was like nothing I’ve had before. Can’t wait to go back!

Came here solely because I saw on TikTok that the sushi comes on a boat/train lol. Sometimes you just want a little something to enhance your experience. It was so cool! I made a reservation which I'm glad I did because the line was long and we were seated immediately. I wish I could remember the exact names for the rolls we ordered because everything was tasty! I totally recommend for a date night. There may be another location in Berkeley but I don't think the food comes out like this lol.
