We were in town for a show and looked for something special. La Gare met and exceeded our expectations in all categories: food, service and atmosphere. In the pictures there’s the frog legs and the beef Wellington.
We went early on a weeknight to celebrate a birthday. When we arrived it was quiet, but we knew business would pick up as the evening went on - it did! But the noise level wasn't overwhelming. Our party ordered Prime Rib, Medalians of Beef, Salmon and a Veal dish. Dinner comes with soup and salad and this night's soup was a yummy corn chowder. Super friendly and efficient staff. Our server Amy was fantastic. A time warp walking in to the 1970's decor. Food was as nothing outstanding. Soup and salad included with entree (upcharge for onion soup) at a reasonable price. Overall good but nothing great. Second time visiting and no reason to return with so many other restaurants to visit.
