Sadly new chef and new brew master leads to EPIC fail. Tried to give my feedback, but it fell on deaf ears. That being said, I will miss Steele and Hops. Love the staff, owners and atmosphere. Cheers and happy landings.

So sad to hear they discontinued their Fried Eggplant sandwich... it was the best and I've told so many people to go there and get one...so now I will try their Black Bean Burger...it won't be the same but it is probably really good as all their food is...now in search of a good Fried Eggplant Sandwich on a Brioche Bun...

Stopped in last night for a drink and a little dinner. Sat at the bar and had some great cocktail creations by Chase! Good conversation, food and drink. Walked through the sidewalk garden on our way out. Cool concept. There was a truck parked beside garden and two women were loading up the front seat with garden goodies. Not sure that is cool??? Will be back to sample more off the menu! Cheers!

I did an internet search for the best fish and chips and it came up with this place. When we went in, we were immeditley greeted by a pleasant hostess who promptly seated us. Our waiter wasn't friendly or unfriendly; just disinterested. We both ordered the fish and chips due to their rave reviews. Sadly, we were disappointed. First, there was only one piece of fish. (I left hungry.) Second, the breading detached from the fish so there was no crunch. The fish didn't taste particularly fresh nor did it have a lot of flavor. There were no condiments on the table so we couldn't add salt or pepper. Having said that, there were other things on the menu that looked better so maybe it was a bad choice.

I dig this spot but somethings changed, at least on this visit. Previously it's been a great place for good beer/food, service, and atmosphere. But this time all three categories were lacking... Our group of 4 sat outside which was nice until the sun set when it got really cold. We found the fire pit is more decorative than a source of significant warmth, and the heat lamps kept dying and the propane wasn't replaced in a timely manner. Mendocino Ave on a Friday eve is loud and disruptive so I highly recommend indoors for a better experience. Sadly our waiter was very inattentive from the start- we even had to ask other staff to have him come over and we went without drinks over and over again. He was very quiet and unresponsive. We briefly had another, taller waiter, come over while our primary was on break and he was awesome! This man deserves props on his engagement and service- he knows how to get tips and we wish we had him from the start. Sadly the IPA selection wasn't as good as prior trips (and we had a round of each). The flavor profiles just weren't what we expected and two were incredibly hard to swallow- which is crazy because I like most styles of IPA's. We had to use my buddies pickles as an immediate chaser just to get the Boogie Wonderland down. I know beers are subjective but I'd skip this one if I were you. I'm hoping their next batches improve to the standard I'm familiar with from this brewery. Running on Empty is their best by far and worth the 12oz. Their pizzas are great! Highly recommend. It's also one of the rare breweries with spirits. I'll be back for sure hoping to update with more stars.

I had never tried fish tacos until my visit to Steel & Hops. They just never sound good to me up until then. Boy was I wrong! Absolutely delicious & fresh! The rice is so good too. Yesterday after visiting a doctor in Corte Madera my husband & I were deciding where to eat. "Cheesecake Factory?" "Hey it's Tuesday! Taco Tuesday at Steel & Hops!" He had never eaten here before. He was not disappointed at all! He loved the tacos & also a bowl of chili. Both of us just kept saying how much we loved the tacos. Last night when it came to dinner he said "I could really go for more chili". So with DoorDash we had Steel & Hops again! Wasn't disappointed at all. Delicious!!

Young and Yoder is the name of Steele and Hops old fashion. It perfectly hit the spot! Happy Wednesday

Been here a few times and my experience has always been pleasant. Staff is friendly and love the ambiance. Back ground music was 90's early 2000's alternative so that was right up my alley. Food was excellent and drinks not far behind. Definitely recomend

Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend after running errands for the weekend. Hungry and looking for something casual. Tadaaa! Awesome! Cool indoor bar and restaurant with an outdoor patio too. We sat inside after being seated by our friendly hostess. Fun drinks menu accompanied by a solid food menu. Lol...as we both ordered the fish and chips (fresh and super flaky not oily) and split the mac & cheese (bacon and cheesey goodness). The fries are crisp and delicious with really good simple coleslaw...Fantastic! Pisco sours for something different and a great server to make for a fun and great lunch experience. Plenty of beer and drink options. Overall a totally great experience and convenient location on Mendocino Ave. We will be back. Appreciated! Cheers!

I had a couple tasty beers they had on tap since most were gone and couldn't sample thank God. I couldn't believe for a second they had parsley or some plant on the bar in front of the customers that could Coug or sneeze right on there plants they put in the drinks. Unbelievable. I asked the owner how can you do that and he laughed in my face under his mask like a fool. Then right in front of me tells the other bartenders and they all laughed right in front of me. Who does that then they thought it was funny that my bank card only had half the bill price so the bartender let me know so it was fine I paid in cash . The owner then gave me another receipt with a big void sign on it for no reason I never seen that before in front of everyone in the bar wich I had it paid . Embarrassing!!! I gave the void ticket back with cash for the bill and he thought it was funny to give it back again. Omg. Over priced everything with a ignorant owner who laughs in in front of you under his mask along with his employees. Very unpleasant and unprofessional.

Really enjoyed the vibe, setup, and staff. Food was very good - split an order of cigars and zucchini! They had a few empty kegs so we didn't get to try to many of their home brews. I did have the IPA and it wasn't my favorite, tasted flat in my opinion. Their cocktail menu and drinks were exceptional! Planning on returning to catch some games this year. Cheers!

Please take my advice and order the fried chicken sandwich and the brisket cigars you will be happy you did. If you are with someone who has the taste buds of a kid then the Mac and cheese is worth a taste as well.

If I could give 2.5 stars I would. This was my first visit here and I had heard some great things about it. Both the host and our waiter were friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered the zucchini sticks and brisket cigars for appetizers. The zucchini was crispy and cooked to perfection. Their ranch is pretty great too. The brisket cigars on the other hand were a major let down. They were crispy (which was awesome) but the inside was really dry brisket with the weirdest texture. The menu said there was cheese in them but you could have fooled us. The dipping sauce was very tasty though. All of our entrees left something to the imagination. They mainly lacked salt and seasoning. The crispy chicken sandwich was made of thigh so it was super juicy but lacked flavor in all aspects of it. The chicken pot pie had a super crispy top but the inside (again) lacked seasoning. The highlight of the meal (besides the zucchini sticks and ranch) was surprisingly the Margherita pizza! It was delicious. Everything from the chew of the crust to the slight sweetness of the sauce. I was really hoping to like this place as the feeling inside seemed super chill. Maybe we will be back for a pizza again.

Sent back the 'Brisket Cigars' as they were filled with what looked like canned dog food. I've never seen blended brisket before. Disgusting! Then my wife and I both ordered the Chicken Pot Pie. The crust was the only thing good about the pie. The inside was like a chowder, nothing like the consistency of a normal pot pie. Neither of us ate it. Meal was a complete disappointment and a total waste of too much money. I wouldn't even think of going back.
