I visited this donut shop on the morning of July 18 in Santa Rosa. The total on the register showed $6.35, but when I paid with my card, I was charged $7.57. I don’t believe any place in California charges $1.22 in tax for a $6.35 purchase.
It seemed like the register was old and the transaction was completed using a separate small card reader. I felt something was off and I now believe this was dishonest or even fraudulent.
Please double-check your charges when paying here. I’m disappointed and hope the owners address this issue seriously.

Very friendly proprietor serving EXCELLENT donuts at a very fair price. Dont be fooled by the plain interior, these are some of the best donuts weve ever had, not just locally but everywhere we've been. Coffee is solid but not superior. Donuts more than make up for that.

The other location of Tans is a million times better. The blueberry muffins are extremely dry and lack blueberries, and the donuts appear to be a day old. I hope it was a one time thing, and not an everyday occurrence.

We had Tan’s donuts at my daughter’s wedding. Service & price were great! Donuts were fantastic…every last one…gone!
Friendly and efficient staff with fresh and tasty doughnuts and coffee. Not a bad place to hang out while eating a snack or quickly pick up something to go.
