David and Lisa (the owners) are wonderful. Very accommodating and the service is exceptional. They have a wonderful menu and the food never disappoints. We have been there many times over the years and everything has been consistently delicious.

Small restaurant hidden away in a plaza. Nice portions and very nice staff. Katsu was a little overdone but we enjoyed everything else!

What do you do on a 90 degree evening when you don't want to cook? Go to Toyo, have a cold glass of Chardonnay, talk to Gilbert and order amazing sushi take out!! Gilbert is a master in making everything in real time.

Well, 9 years since my previous visit and the food was marginally better. Barbara S. had the $16 teriyaki beef lunch special. The meat was almost as tough as shoe leather. My yaki udon was okay in the feeble way. Noodle firmness was good, but the flavor was pasty. The 4 shrimp were fine, the diced chicken chunks were moist. The soy sauce dressing was generic and lackluster. The above average item was the crispy fresh garden salad. Seeing the other diners who had BIG plates of tantalizing looking sushi rolls made me realize that is what you order at this place. Skip the bento boxes and lunch plate specials.

The people are friendly and you receive such warm welcome by the owners. We picked up a large order for a family birthday yesterday. It was wonderful! Thank you so much for making our family celebration all it could be , my daughter was so happy!!

Locally owned. The owners are really friendly and a lot of locals eat there because of the value and how good it is. Big portions and great tasting Japanese food!

Amazing food, super friendly staff and great prices. We've been going to Toyo for 12+ years. Always happy there! Food super fresh and tasty, owner David and his wife are so friendly, they make you feel like a family. Last, but now least, prices are good, very affordable (sushi cost same as Safeway deli), but much better quality, flavor and size. Highly recommend this place! Also, easy parking , safe location.

We've been going to Toyo for at least 10 years, ever since my brother-in-law took us there. Every time, the food has been delicious. That kind of consistency, over such a long period, is rare. Sometimes I have the tempura, sometimes a sushi & roll combo plate, and sometimes I order sushi à la carte. Every time I walk out happy.

This is the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to, and I've been to many sushi restaurants. Their lion king roll is incredible. They use great cuts of fish, and don't settle for using fish scrape. Very well priced too. Whenever I'm in town, I eat there as much as possible.

I really don’t love to leave full-on negative reviews, but this is without a doubt the worst sushi I’ve had in town. The rice-to-roll proportions were heavily rice skewed and it just takes away so much of the flavor (not to mention the rice is mushy and not well made either). I do not exaggerate when I say that Safeway’s rolls are better than this place (seriously, I tried a deep fried California, spicy tuna, unagi, salmon skin). I certainly feel misled by their google reviews at this point ?Proceed with caution.

I haven't lived in Santa Rosa for a very long time. Was happy to see this restaurant is still open. Went to dinner with a large group for my son's graduation. David was so nice and had our table all ready for us. I tried the cucumber salad with crab and shrimp. I didn't like that the cucumber was big thick slices. Prefer it thinly sliced but it was still very good. I tried the Lion King roll, samurai roll and spider roll. All delicious. The best was the salmon sashimi. HUGE!!!!!
