Arrived at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, 4/28/2021. The doors were locked, it was dark inside, and no menu or hours were posted. It appears to have died. Too bad. I liked it for the kind of restaurant it was. It had a long history.

There ought to be special status in that hot place down below for anyone who could take a locally favored, successful niche restaurant speicalizing in turkey that had remained profitable for over 50 years into financial ruin in less than 2 years! Pursuing a winning formula of erratic business hours, elevated prices, limited menu choices (no longer offering a turkey burger - REALLY...., in restaurant that specializes in......TURKEY....!!!), berating employees in front of patrons and pizzzing off the bartender so that he leaves to work at another watering hole..... and taking most of his loyal clientele with him, the ignoramus who purchased the formally, highly-successful Willie Bird's Restaurant, a fixture in Santa Rosa since the mid-1960's, to turn it into a dismal, sad place with little to recommend it other than continuing to serve locally-produced Willie Bird's roast turkey, albeit without the traditional hors d'oeuvers and now limited to either soup OR salad rather than the ever-present soup AND salad prior to this nearly hostile takeover. Now, the fool who decimated this favorite of so many, renamed "The Bird," has announced that he's taking his predatory behaviors to a new location out on Sonoma Highway, just east of town. We'll see how much further he can take his lunatic-fringe, unprofessional vision and stick it in the eye of everyone who loved patronizing Willie Bird's Restaurant and Bar. My guess is it won't be long before we witness another sudden closing...., that is if he can open up in the new location at all...

Don't order online, they take your money and when you show up during operating hours, they're conveniently "closed". Used to love this place, but between this experience and the Qanon sign in their window, I'll make my own turkey dinners from now on.

Amazing chicken sandwiches actually found this spot on YouTube on top ten places to eat in sf, they have great prices a nice simple menu can't go wrong with a spicy chicken sandwich and beer

Turkey sandwich not as meaty as it used to be....used to get it on a roll and now it seems they only have sliced ?...all in all seemed fresh and fries were hot and freshly prepared too...a little more ? goes a long way.... I'll try for a 5 star visit another time...
I am very impressed with the new takeout window they installed! Keeping both customers and employees safe during these times, it is very much appreciated!

A two hour wait for our food and then the order was wrong. Called and left a complaint because no one answered the phone and no one got back to me. A very bad experience.

Love this restaurant. For years it has been consistent with good food, great service and a classic ambience. The servers are fabulous and the new owners have tweaked it to be a classic with some innovative new dishes as well as the old. Can't wait for indoor dining as this will be the first restaurant to visit, again. Congratulations,,,,,to the new owner, Joe, and his remarkable staff of Chefs, Bartenders and Servers. Hang in there! We need you.
