The location was absolutely stunning! My boyfriend proposed to me on the mini dock at the pond and it was picture perfect. The person who my fiancée made reservations with on the phone put our group on under the member price which I believe was probably a mistake on the employees part. When we got there a gentleman said it would be 175 which we were fine with. He was very nice and personable. After getting a few bottles a lady with brown hair wearing a black hat informed us we do not get the member price and would have to spend 375 dollars. This was a bit disconcerting because she had a very fake attitude and made our group uncomfortable. I don’t know her position in this business, but as someone who has worked in customer service I believe she needs some lessons. It put a damper on our engagement. But again, 10/10 for the male employee who helped us. He was great!
We intentionally seek out producers that do not have large distribution but are focused on well executed wines. Grassini has for years been about production, not doing large tastings.
So having a lovely April day beside the pond with lovely weather was a special treat. We've enjoyed the wines before and they remembered us and so provided a flight that reflected what we had tried before and would likely be interested in exploring on their latest efforts.
Here's the thing. We've been to many wine tastings, and beside having good wine, one of my highest complements is when I learn something new. We really did come away with new nuggets that help us better enjoy not only what they do but varieties we don't normally seek out.
Lovely and worth the trip out from Santa Ynez or Solvang.
This was my partner and I’s first time exploring the Santa Ynez Valley. We were very fortunate to come across Grassini Family’s tasting rooms in Downtown Santa Barbara which led us to a private tasting on the impeccable grounds of their estate. We had the most pleasant experience with Susan, we are so grateful to have had a host who made us feel very welcome and was super accomodating. She was a ray of sunshine and made our visit so special! Thank you Susan and Grassini family. I won’t forget to note that the wine was incredible! Particularly their 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon which we have had shipped back to the UK!
Amazing vineyard property, fantastic wines and excellent hospitality!
Highly recommended visit. 100% of my guests over the years have loved Grassini.
Amazing family, amazing wine!!!
We got 3 bottles as a gift. First off, it’s now been 25 minutes and we still don’t have the bottle open as they use wax rather than a cork or a screw cap. It’s not coming off in one piece. We literally have pieces of wax all over the counter. Disaster. Why do this? Excessive risk of wax getting in to the wine. Idiocy.
We enjoyed our wine tasting experience and all of the wines we sampled -- white, rose, and red. The tasting staff was very friendly and personable and shared about the vineyard and personal stories about their wine making experience. The grounds include a pond with picnic tables.
drove three hours to find out you need appointment. Should mention this on your web ads and postings.
Beautiful! Emily did a one on one tour with us and she was fantastic - just like the wine. Truly, this is a bucket list kind of item. Do not miss it.
