Good amount of food, friendly staff, and awesome breakfast

The food is great, the service is awesome. My family and I and friends from church eat there quite often, have gotten to know Christine (waitress) very well, she does a phenomenal job, very friendly, and has a great sense of humor. All the wait staff is great, I highly recommend it

Came to this area for the pie and ended up having breakfast to accompany it. Great place! Super cute decor, awesome location, friendly staff, perfect portions, and best of all...deliciously greasy diner food. I wouldn't have it any other way. Bacon was perfectly crisp, everything was cooked the way we asked and the atmosphere was really relaxing. Thanks for breakfast The Apple Country Restaurant!

Reasonably priced, foods good but service is terrible! 15 minutes to get a menu, no water/drinks, another 15 minutes later, after they seated a pair of regulars behind us, brought them drinks and soups, the server finally returns to take our drink order. Seeing how we had been sitting there for 30 minutes at that point, we quickly ordered our drinks a "starter"/appetizers AND meals out of fear she would never return. Another 20 minutes to get our drinks and food, they brought my soup and the tables appetizer all together with the meals which was disappointing and kind of pointless, but at least we finally got the food. We asked the server for another set of silverware (our table was short) and a refill of our drinks and the server disappeared. Eventually my husband got up and took a set of silverware off a neighboring table, but we never got our soda refills. We finished our meal and after another 15 minutes of starring at a table of dirty dishes, my husband finally got up and went to speak to the cashier about getting our check so we could go. Not that we were about to wait for dessert at that point, but it's worth noting, I found it odd that this restaurant, being in the Julian area, especially one with the word "apple" in its name, didn't serve apple pie.

Service was very friendly but slow... a problem when you are really hungry. Food was good. Sandwiches were fresh. Kids liked $11.75 club. Good sized sandwich with plenty of fries. Chicken and rice soup was tasty.. plenty of chicken, mostly if not all dark meat and only a little rice.. flavor reminded me of a Mexican soup. Didn't have dessert but heard waiter tell another table to go next door to julian pie if they wanted pie.

Two words: bottomless mimosas. Also, we sat at the counter and could see how hard everyone was working their a$$es off. You can tell they care.

Lovely restaurant not too far from Julian, it was one or the few restaurants that was still open after 7pm on a weekend in that small town area. The waitress was super nice and patient as I couldn't choose what to order. I ordered the camarones rancheros (shrimp sautéed in their special Mexican salsa with onions and bell peppers) $14ish and my boyfriend ordered the country fried chicken (half a chicken) that came with a choice of two sides plus a soup! $15ish. The portions are amazingly huge and the dishes were delicious! The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and juicy. It came with a bowl of hot rice and bean soup that my boyfriend and I shared. I had to help my bf finish the chicken at the restaurant because we decided my dish would still taste good if we reheated it later unlike the fried chicken. And indeed, a few hrs later, I finished the shrimp tacos that still tasted amazing after a quick toss in the microwave. Definitely a gem of a restaurant and their dishes fill you up when you're on the brink of despair thinking you may have to do without dinner as most shops and restaurants in a small town close early. Love the prices, love the interior, love the food and the servers were all so kind!

The Bison Burger was pretty good as were the fries. Did not like the Apple Cider not the strawberry/rhubarb pie. They do not make their own pies.

Stopped here for breakfast on the way to Borrego. It's adorable, clean, the service was friendly helpful and efficient and the food was delicious. I will definitely eat here again and make it a tradition on the way to Julian. Even the coffee was fresh and strong.

Pretty good restaurant food came out amazingly fast and was very good. I had the meatloaf. Rated 4 stars because it took longer to get seated than any other part of the meal. As far as I could tell we were left up there with no host/hostess and not so much as a single acknowledgment from any of the staff for over ten minutes. I was actually ready to leave because of it but my wife wouldn't let me. Once we got seated everything else was great.

Always great food and great service. I stop here everytime I drive back to San Diego from Borrego Springs. Make sure to get cinnamon ice cream with your pie.

The food was fair but not great. Service was good. But doubt I will be back. Sorry
