We arrived about 11:30 on a Thursday. It was quite busy as usual but this day there were more people than I've ever seen before. They were all sitting at the tables eating deli sandwiches or drinking coffee with bakery treats. Unfortunately the bread seemed to be sold out except for a few loaves. Our choices were narrow but we found a loaf of cheddar jalapeño. That has been a favorite of ours for years but it has been quite a while since we've bought a loaf. We took a peek at the pastry case. There were lots of beautiful pastries and cookies to choose but they are very pricey and we were saving our sweet tooth for pie that day. The checkout line wasn't too bad. Thank goodness we got there after the rush! Now for the review of the bread. It was a huge disappointment. The recipe has obviously changed. The slices are thinner, the texture is different, and the flavor is bland. Nothing special, nothing like it used to be. What happened Dudley's? I know we will always go back to Dudley's. It's a tradition for us to stop by whenever we're in the area.

Dudley's is a Santa Ysabel staple. All breads and pastries are made in house and sandwiches all made to order. It is always a great place to stop for lunch for sandwiches on the house made bread!

ICONIC! Kind of ugly, even, a bit tacky, but unbeatable breads and desserts. What would the Santa Ysabel Valley be without this place? Rumor has it that when there was a fire in the backcountry the firemen came here first to make sure that this sacred establishment didn't burn. I have been eating here for more than fifty (yes fifty) years. The recipes have changed little. Make sure and try the ginger fruit bars and macaroons (to die for) And I do like all the cattle brands on the wall. This feels like Texas in East County San Diego. Don't miss this place !
Such a cool little place! Wonderful pastries, but also art and crafts from local artists, locally made jams, etc. Definitely worth a visit.

Stopped for a quick cup of coffee and a couple blueberry scones - oh, oh so good. Cute little gifts shop with unique gift items and place to sit inside and out. The baked goods are always very good!!
First time after checking Google maps and driving to ABorrego Park. They sell sandwiches, pies and breads. There is seating areas, and good for rest and having a coffee break. Lots of parking.
We stopped by for a quick lunch on our way to Anza-Borrego. They have a wide range of baked goods! The rosemary olive oil loaf was delicious. The sandwiches were fresh too. We ended up getting some pastries to go.
