Were there as a party of eight. Ordered: hot and sour soup, kungpao chicken, Mongolian beef, black paper beef, honey shrimp, shrimp noodle, duck and one more chicken dish. I don’t recommend the soup. And for the food, it is ok but really standard. The duck is something definitely I suggest. But the rest of my choices are just ok.

First time here - we ordered crispy noodle with combo and Mongolian beef - it’s good to see both dishes were generously portioned with meat. As often we see many places cut down the portion. And the taste was authentically good, better than some places in SF Chinatown. The service was good too - when we asked for our leftover to take home - the waitress actually came out and boxed it for us . Will come back here when we come back to this Saratoga downtown .

Was driving through and decided to check the food out here. The food was fine. Nothing extraordinary. The price though, it was not on par with what was served here (hence the post).

Is this a Saratoga thing to turn everything chic and make ordinary things pricey?

That was THE BEST Chinese food I’ve had in a long time, maybe ever. Peking duck was crispy and juicy. Very reasonable prices and great service

Had fond memories about this restaurant. Used to be excellent service and great food. I took family for mother's day. Made reservation still made us to wait for 1 hour. We got table but no water no plate nothing was given. I had to get it by myself. Once we ordered the food it took another 45 minutes. When I complained the excuse was we are busy due to mother's day. Food was sub standard. Soup wonton were not cooked and green onions cake has no onions. Tofu was very salty and again no service whatsoever. Still they have face to ask for tips. Horrible place. I won't recommend and will never come again.

Better Late Than Never

We were in Saratoga for our son's wedding at Saratoga Springs. We were staying at the Saratoga Oaks Lodge.

I mention the above because it made Hong's well situated for the 30+ rehearsal dinner.

The food was fantastic. All of it was made with care and fresh. Gourmet describes it well. There was so much attention to detail. I could have made a meal just of the delicious egg drop soup. It was exceptional. Do try the lemon chicken.

The service was excellent. The staff did not insist we stay with a banquet menu, which I'm sure would have been easier for them. They were great about letting us order a la carte, including gluten free and vegetarian options. They didn't bat an eye when 10 guests walked in an hour late and we needed more food.

I owe them for that.

The cost was more than reasonable.

Everyone who came raved about the dinner for the next 2 days.

Thank you, Hong's, for a memorable family event!

I've been going to Hong's for 10 years now and I've seen the evolution of this place over the years. Food was high quality and really good 10 years ago, had some rough patches during the covid years but I'm glad to say it's picked up and gotten better since 10 years ago. New, better service. Online QR code ordering. Lots of new improvements

Had to swish away flies the whole meal, that happens, but the food was not very good. None of the sauces were favorable. Disappointed. They need to up their game.

Asked for water and the waiter completely forgot until I asked again 10 mins later. Ordered lunch special and they forgot to bring the soup and I had to remind them. Food was average. I won’t be coming back.

Food was excellent and service was really good. We sat at the outdoor patio which is nice. The only thing was there were some kind of insects flying around. They don't bother people but just the sight was not that great. We ignored them and enjoyed the food. Everything we ordered were great. But the XO Seafood Fried Rice stood out more.

Parking: As of parking, if everything failed, La Fondue restaurant right across the street offers valet parking. Just a thought.
