Closed down as of mid March 2022. So sad to see this authentic Indo cafe closed for good. Maria/owner told us to follow her on her IG, and she'll think about taking orders from Goldbelly in the future. She really made food the right way, without taking shortcuts on ingredients. We'll miss you, good luck on your new endeavors!

The menu photos on yelp don't show the actual cost of the food. This fried rice with chicken was $25 but on yelp photos was $15. Food was good tho

Food is good. No complaints there. But the new pricing is nuts. Hole in the wall with prices of a nice sit down restaurant. Hmm ...

I would have given Indo Cafe 5 stars if it is not because of the price increase. I love the food here, especially the Lotong Sayur, as that is one of the few options that is gluten-free. The presentation of food isn't very appealing, but the food is delicious. I love the soft moist rice cakes. It's hard to find this kind of rice cakes in other restaurants here. When I fly back to South-East Asia, I will always seek out to eat Lotong, one of my favorite food. The curry is very flavorful too and not too rich or dense. It's like a soup, and I will drink up every drop of it. I ordered The Lotong Sayur to go, as I found out that they no longer have a dine-in area. Once again - thanks to C19. The Lotong Sayur used to be $15.50. Now, it is $25!!! I can't believe it! I have noticed that other restaurants have raised their prices too, perhaps one or two dollars ... but $10?! I am willing to pay if this is in an upscale restaurant, but Indo Cafe is not. No matter how delicious the food is, I don't think I will pay $25 for the Lotong Sayur again. I'm heartbroken ... so sad to say good-bye to you - Lotong Sayur. I will miss you. You are such a delightful dish, but I am never going back to take you out again.

It's easy to miss this place since the entrance is in the back by the parking lot, and there's no sign - even on Big Basin Way. The chef was really nice, came over and told us there was an off-menu kids menu (adding that we could make substitutions if we desired), and generally saw to our meal. Our dining experience had the soundtrack of the constant hum of refrigeration. One of my kids asked if we were in a deli. It very much looked like one, but we didn't come for the atmosphere. At the time of our (pre-pandemic) visit there were 3 tables. 1 is big and can fit more than one party. There is no decoration to speak of except for scissors hanging on one wall. The kids had the "kid menu" which consisted of two pieces of fried chicken, potato patty, and yellow rice (coconut rice but a little less sweet with the addition of turmeric). They loved the potato patty (who doesn't love fried potato?). The fried chicken was quite good as well. The husband had a combo with beef rendang (not as good as the version at now-closed Borobudur Restaurant in SF), jackfruit curry (I was so not a fan I didn't take a second bite), chicken satay (charred in a good way with good flavor. No sauce offered but that was OK), yellow rice, and curry egg (I didn't try it). Meanwhile I sampled three apps. The fried tofu encasing veggies was greasy but was the best part of the meal, other than the potato patty. It came with a tasty spicy dipping sauce. The chicken pot pie crepe was only OK. It was fried which the menu didn't warn me about so I ended up with three fried apps. I felt like I was at a county fair. The kroket (potato with ground beef in the middle) came with a spicy peanut sauce and reminded me of the pot pie. The beef was slightly creamy in the middle which wasn't a good thing.

Tragically, IndoCafe is no longer a good value. At $25 a rice plate, it costs ~$100 to get lunch for 3 people with a shared appetizer. When you realize that comes with super slow service, take-out only, no restroom, no water, it just doesn't add up. The food is good, as it has been. But just not good enough for this price anymore.

Very expensive for what you get which was disappointing. $80 including tip for two people! We each got a rice plate and a bottle of water and we shared an appetizer. The food was pretty good but we had to wait an hour for our food (we got there 15 mins after they opened) and a good majority of the dishes were sold out. Will try one more time but first impression wasn't good.

Tante Maria (the owner) is very friendly and kind! I went here yesterday asking for martabak and they said we must order one day in advance. So we ordered martabak for today and I let everyone in the house to try it. They all love it! It's like very thick sweet pancake. We ordered chocolate, cheese, and condense milk for our toppings. In my opinion, it is good but could be sweeter!! Overall 8.5/10. Definitely a must try !

Wouldn’t recommend this place for vegetarians. They are extremely overpriced and didn’t have any place for us to sit and eat. We went at around 12pm on a Saturday and almost 90% of their menu items were listed as sold out. This might be due to holiday season , but I won’t go back here again

More than half their menu items were listed as "sold out" .Probably we went in at the wrong time, or maybe because of the holiday season, not sure. Almost all their vegetarian dishes were sold out. I ordered their Tempeh Balado and I didn't like the flavor. And it looks like they have increased their prices, everything is very expensive. Will not be going back here again.

For the most part the food is good. However, the chicken satay we got was crispy on the outside but was cold and raw on the inside. I didn't know until I bit into and I am hoping that I don't get sick from raw chicken. I was a little disappointed that their solution was to replace the one stick of satay. I was also disappointed that there was no indoor dining. When you pay over $50 for 2 lunches, I don't expect to be eating out of to-go boxes in the back parking lot.

Overpriced!!! Lunch combo is no longer $15 it's $25 each. For what it's worth I understand pandemic and restaurants struggling but nowhere it's listed about the price increase. I second with the prior reviews. I don't think it's worth $25 for a plate. Especially tek tek noddle for $25 I might as well make it at home ‍

This is a very authentic place. I am Indonesian and I'm really thrilled to have found this place to heal my food homesickness! Try the Balinese rice set, or the Gudeg. It's as real as they get!

We got the nasi padang and ayam panyet and they were delicious!!! Each dish was unique and flavorful in their own ways. A bit pricy but honestly worth the money.

They increased their prices by 10 dollars for rice plates and at least 4-5 dollars for staters. Great food but that is too much of a price increase even though I am all for supporting local business. I have been here before so for it to go up that much in price was pretty disappointing. No indoor or outdoor dining, just two person self order at the counter. I hope they stay afloat but I just can't justify the substantial increase.
