Mt. Eden Winery is truly a hidden gem. The moment you arrive, you're greeted with breathtaking views that set the tone for an exceptional wine-tasting experience. The wines are top-notch—each sip reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail that go into every bottle. Their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are standouts, but every wine we tried had incredible depth and character. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you're a wine lover or just looking for a serene escape, Mt. Eden is a must-visit!

A California legend still making some of (if not THE) best wine in the state...sorry Napa but you know it's true. Great history and an amazing view. Well worth the crazy drive up the single lane dirt road. Super entertaining and cute dogs on the property too, for you dog lovers.

A hidden gem of a winery up in the hills of Saratoga! We did a wine tasting with them on a weekday (they're currently only open for tastings by appointment on weekdays). The ambiance and view up by their tasting area was amazing, definitely in one of our top favorites. You get a view of their vineyards as well as the entire bay with the mountains by Fremont/Milpitas/San Jose on the other side. The wine itself was very high quality and tasty. We had a chardonnay, a rose, and two other reds. Personal favorite was the chardonnay, and it's one of the ones they're most known for. Tom, the person who introduced us to the wines, was very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have two friendly dogs roaming around that like to say hello to guests.Note that the drive up is windy, narrow, and fairly sloped uphill, with some parts that are dirt (unpaved) roads. It's about 2 miles on the windy road before you get to the winery. There is good signage, but you'll want to drive slowly since the road is shared in both directions. It's worth it though!

Wonderful experience! Amazing views and great wines. Tom was fantastic in sharing the history of Mount Eden and explaining the different grapes and wines. Will go back next time in CA. Already ordered more wine to be shipped to me in VA.

Sophie was a fantastic host. I told her my plan to propose to my girlfriend and she really went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. The view is the most breathtaking view out of any vineyard I’ve been to. It sits right at the top of the mountain so it does take some time to drive up. The wine was also amazing, the Chardonnay and Rosé were our favorites.

The chardonnays produced at Mount Eden are legendary! And they are quite deserving of the legend. They are known for, among other qualities, being long-lived when properly cellared. The winery tours are a wonderful experience and well worth the very minimal $25 fee!(Why people post one star reviews because there is no tasting room or because you must make an appointment is beyond me--all of this information is on the winery's website--read people, read before you go!)

A well established winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains, overlooking Silicon Valley. Sweeping views from San Jose to Redwood City, one of the most beautiful vineyards I've ever seen, and outstanding wines - Pinot, Chardonnay, and Cabernet, all in a nuanced and refined style. Sophie was a lovely host, we got to see the cellar, and taste all the current releases. Thanks so much, Sophie!

Jeffrey & Ellie (husband and wife) have been together at the vineyard since 1981. Jeffrey became the Winemaker in 1983 and has been doing it ever since. They are both beautiful, kind hearted & gracious. Thank you so much for your hospitality!Call them to schedule appointments so that you may see their breathtaking vineyard from the tippy-top of the mountain. If you are driving, it is aaaaaaaaaaalllll the way at the top. If you ever think you went too far, keep going. You aren’t there yet. Drive up, up, up! Until you reach the absolute top of the mountain. Then you will see a cute little house with Boston Ivy growing on it. You will also most likely see two (2) cute dogs running around outside: Roxy (Blue Healer) & Rusty (Border Collie). They are adorable. And friendly. ? Drove up the unpaved dirt road with my 2016 Lexus CT200h and it was a little bit of a challenge. If you have a vehicle that is higher off the ground or has off-roaring capabilities, you should be fine.Mount Eden grows three (3) varietals at various elevations. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Cabernet Sauvignon. Their RESERVE Chardonnay is delicious! Please be sure to take some home with you, if you have never had the pleasure.Their Pinot Noir is amazing as well. Especially since the growing conditions at their vineyard are perfect for Pinot Noir. Jeffrey & Ellie have everything down to a science. Thoroughly impressed. But my heart lies with their Cabernet Sauvignon. Any wine that Ellie introduces you will sweep you off of your feet. She will never lead you astray. She & her husband, their daughter (34) and son (28) are the lifeblood of Mount Eden. Reid (son) will take over the reins from his father Jeffrey when the time comes. He lives and works on property & will be the face for future generations to come.Gorgeous family. Fantastic work ethic. Beautiful souls. Love each and every one of them.Thank you so much for a wonderful & educational experience! For those of you who have never tried a Domaine Eden, Mount Eden or Mount Eden Reserve wine... you need to try one today. I am sorry to tell you, but you have been missing out. Call them now! Or try a bottle at your favorite restaurant in whichever major metropolitan City is closest to you. Only the best of the best carry Mount Eden. Do yourself a favor & find this gem somewhere near you!#mounteden #mountedenvineyards #mountedenreserve #domaineeden #santacruzmountains #saratoga #chardonnay #pinotnoir #cabernetsauvignon #beautiful #delicious #trysometoday

Tasting by appointment only. Great wines. I love their Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. They also have a budget line called Domain Eden that is worth searching for. Great daily drinkers.
