A cozy authentic Taiwanese restaurant in an area decimated by a declining Taiwanese population. This is an absolute gem, the cook should be commended!!
Southland taste recently closed ending 2 different families owning a south bay institution of Taiwanese food. If you are craving that taiwanese omlette rice or minced pork over rice I can vouch!
Wa shi Daiwan Lang. You can trust me if you are a Taiwanese foodie.
Omg update 5/15/25
I just tried their popcorn chicken and its AMAZING. SUPER THING CRISP CRUST AND THEN ALL CHICKEN BABY!!! WHAT THE AMAZING!
Cmere trust. Eat. Profit
Its between Old Republic Title and Chicago Title near Peets coffee, across the street from Jakes!
Re: negative reviews are poorly written and lack any thoughtfulness.
I've been to Taiwan 7 times in the last few years as well as am familiar when Cupertino was taiwanese before all the taiwanese, Koreans and Japanese fragmented left the area in large numbers or moved abroad.
You have to understand that the palate of people that enjoy other DIFFERENT Chinese cuisines will never agree with another Chinese cuisine, same with folks that hate on legitimate American Chinese food which is its own cuisine, there's British Chinese cuisine, Malaysian, Indonesian, Singaporean, Venezuelan Chinese, Chilean, Mexican Chinese etc.
Anything below a 4 is a garbage review with no effort they're either attack reviews from competitors or people that just can't appreciate the mom and pop style of taiwan.
Book a ticket (Taiwan) and eat in Tainan, Khaosiung, Taipei, changhua, jeelung and other places and you'll see what I mean.
Nice and casual food in a mom & pop place
Server lady very rude to me and my wife, she looks so angry.
As a customer we just come to your restaurant to enjoy food, why treating customers like that!
Food is good, much better than average chinese food restaurants. You can tell that the chef is really caring their dishes. Pork chitterlings is good which is not common in the US. Just don’t expect too much from the front of the house staff however.
The pig's trotter rice is really not delicious. Tips are after tax

I went all this way just to eat Taiwanese food. The chicken rolls are very good, the danzi noodles are also good, and the oyster omelette is really different. The air-conditioning is not turned on and it is stuffy. The service attitude is that of a Taiwanese snack bar, nothing special. expect. What a pity.

I originally wanted to eat pork rib rice.
But that day was gone,
The next best thing is fish steak rice.
It doesn't look very appetizing,
But after trying it, I found it was quite delicious.
I ordered a dish of white-cut large intestine.
The smell is a bit stronger, which is a pity!

This review is for their delicious squid potage noodle soup. This dish is very famous dish in Taiwanese street market scene and this is only one that I still eat after dating a Taiwanese women for a few years. It comes piping hot and there is like 5 squid potage and its very soft and savory. The broth is well balanced with the vegetables, the stock, the sauce, and they top it with some cilantro and this is what makes it all work for me. its very delicious. Then the noodles I've tried both of either regular or rice noodle option. Either one you cant go wrong. I highly recommend you try this delicious noodle and its very cheap.

My family has been coming here for years. They are Taiwanese dishes are always authentic and satisfying. For our most recent meal, we had the beef noodle soup, fried ground pork onion roll, fried fish and fried chicken rice plates, and green onion pancake - all excellent!

We like going to this little restaurant for a good Chinese take-out dinner. They seem to be family run and I like to give my business to family businesses.Food is not cheap (although not expensive either), but two of us get 2 dinners and a lunch out of our order of 3 dishes.

Smelled like a bathroom
These negative reviews need to take a chill pill. I didn't read the reviews about their $20 minimum for card payments until I got in the restaurant. I ate the beef noodle soup and it was delicious. When I went up to pay, I was fully prepared to order another item off the menu so I could pay with card, but the lady was super kind and told me next time. I am definitely planning on coming back since their prices are not beatable nowadays.

Strongly recommend this place to anyone who would like to get an authentic taste of Taiwanese food! Affordable price and delicious food.
overestimated from the social media advertising posts, we got 4 microwaved ‘steamed’ buns from refrigerator that were still cold and dry for the bun wrap. Food was normal taste and small portion but pretty pricey …
