La Chimichanga Cantina

Last time I ordered the vegan chimichanga, and it didn’t come with any of the vegan cheese or vegan sour cream that is in the description. Maybe they don’t keep them in stock

My vegan daughter and I visited La Chimichanga and were very surprised with their regular dinner and vegan options. . . And the shrimp are great also. They have an entire vegan menu separate from the regular one with options like chimichangas, taquitos, and more. This place is perfect to go with friends or family. The decoration of the restaurant is very beautiful as well. The exterior is colorful, and the interior has paintings of alebrijes. It's a very lively place to go to for any occasion.

Great food. My burrito with carnitas was great and well seasoned. Bean paste accompanying tortillas was delicious.

Also this looks like an inviting place for a happy hour.

If you want casual dining Mexican food in Scott’s Valley, this is the spot.
The big-plate Mexican food itch needs to be scratched on occasion (though not regularly) and La Chimichanga Cantina delivers just enough across all categories to justify a trip. How far you wish to travel is up to you. That being said I had an ice cold Pacifico on draft that was the best I’ve ever had. That alone is worth traveling out of your way for.

This place is one of our favorite Mexican places in all of Santa Cruz county. The food is good even when you order through door dash, but we recommend coming in for the full experience. They have an open salsa bar and free bean dip with every order. The food always comes fast, and they have such a wide menu with something for everyone. My personal favorites are the crispy taco and the quesabirria. Their fries always hit the spot as well. A must visit when near scott’s valley for sure.

Went to La Chimichanga Cantina late last night to grab a quick bite. Being new to the area, this was our first time here, and let me tell you...this will not be our last!

Ordered the crispy taco with Pastor. I think this was the best taco I've ever had. Delicious meat, super crunchy taco and decent sized. Loved it. The side of refried beans and chips were the icing on the cake, so good.

Definitely coming back here very soon!

Can only give 4 stars since it’s not 100% vegan restaurant per HappyCow limitations ? Has a clear, dedicated separate vegan menu Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable of Vegan dietary needs. Cashier took initiative to confirm with cooks if the sauces/salsas/beans were vegan friendly (they are!) Has a complimentary salsa bar with a wide array of fresh salsas (mild to spicy) and pickled veggies along with free chips and black bean dip Delicious food with gigantic servings, they definitely do not skimp with the amount of veggies they cram into their entrees??? Food is great! Very large portions. Salsa bar with many different types (all no dairy, we asked). Atmosphere is very nice and the menu clearly labeled for their Vegan section. They even have a bar with Happy hour 2-6pm daily.
