The menu has changed, around January of 2024. The food offerings are much reduced, and quite disappointing for our vegetarian friend. But the service and atmosphere remain great!

This review is for the Bar. Bar tenders are very friendly when we were there the Bar tender was the owner. He was nice and very accommodating he made a good Old Fashioned ?

After a long absence, my husband and I decided to give Malone's another shot. The food was "adequate." The service was just plain awful. A single individual was responsible for seating, taking orders, bartending and serving... 25 minute wait for our first drink. The employee tried valiantly and we appreciated his efforts. This is clearly a management problem. What an utter shame. Finally, although I may have not noticed this before, the restaurant does not appear to be handicap accessible.

The place is nice, but overrated. It is too expensive for what it has to offer.

I wish I had consistently better experiences here because it has potential. I like the seasonal menu and the apps are always tasty. A few times ago I ordered a salad, without any of the meat because I am vegetarian. The salad came with chicken, so I sent it back. Instead of remaking it, they clearly just pulled off the chicken because they missed a few pieces. For a $20 salad, I really do expect better. More recently, I asked for ranch with my fries and it was an extra $1 or something. This place is not cheap, they include the service fee in the bills, and they just seem to be skimping. This is too bad, as I love the patio area and would like to be a regular!

The service was excellent. Happy hour was good, the food on the HH was really good!! Prices are a little high for the items we got off the regular menu- but it tasted great. Atmosphere could use some music out in the patio. The truffle fries and spicy cheese curds were

The wings were nothing special and served w only two carrot sticks and two celery sticks. Unimpressive.

We chose this spot based on prior reviews. It’s under new ownership and definitely recommend. The outdoor patio is very pretty with all the trees, the food was really good and the wait staff was friendly!!

I'd be happy to share my thoughts about this place! While I really enjoy the atmosphere of their outdoor patio and the live music they sometimes have, I can't say the same about their food. I've found the portions to be disappointing and the prices to be quite high. Although I hope that they eventually bring in a talented chef to improve the menu, I'm hesitant to give them a five-star rating at this time. Nonetheless, I do recommend stopping by for a drink and some ambiance. As a Scotts Valley resident myself, I appreciate having this option nearby.

Dead fly in soup-and in the window sill. Do you believe that? I thought it only happened in the movies

There were five of us. We were charged a service fee and the tip was added for a large party...five is a large party? The place smells bad (it always has); the service was slow (only one server on a Saturday night); we had to wipe off the outdoor seats before sitting down; the food was terrible. I had coconut prawns that were dark brown and inedible. We all agreed that we will not return. The Crow's Nest owner owns this place? Thought they would bring some of that magic to Scotts Valley. Your restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. Your bar was even dead. Get a ramp for the many old people in the community. Clean up and serve great food or fail. Good luck.

The place was closed but the guy made an exception since I and few others were already here :) Also, it was on the house and had offered me dessert too!

This new ownership has ruined one of the best restaurants. It's was overpriced but so good before, now it's just a ripoff. You can tell that the quality is not the same what so ever. Burgers now suck, along with the Brussel sprouts. The only thing I think tasted the same was the spicy Malone. It's sad they ruined a great restaurant. I'll spend my money any place but here.

Under new ownership, Malone's maintains much of the old vibe, but dressed down a little. Menu is your basic burger/steak/salad/assorted sandwich fare. Deserts were very good. Three of us had a good time sitting outside on a nice day. For what it is, it seems to be running on al cylinders. Sorry, no photos this time...Vegetarian options: Yes, but limited. Non animal burgers, my wife thought were tasty.Dietary restrictions: Don't expect gluten free vegan dishes. It's not really that kind of place.

It's been awhile since I've dined here, happy to say I get the experience was very improved. I was very happy with the new additions to the menu. Look forward to trying more of them. Staff was sooo nice and attentive. Drinks, we only had beers but drinks were always quality here. If you haven't been here in awhile its definitely worth giving another try.
