Best sushi in Santa Cruz Co. the staff is very friendly! Pricing is fair considering the quality and size of the rolls. We always order our takeout from Otoro!

Our go-to spot when we're near Santa Cruz. The bento boxes have the typical choices but the fish is always so fresh. Rolls are filling and so good.

Awesome sushi and fast service. To be honest, you are really missing out if you are in Scott's Valley for dinner and don't come here. Service: Fast, polite waiters have your food out in minutes and always check to make sure you are enjoying the food. Food: Undoubtedly the best sushi place I've been to. The popcorn lobster roll is great but the chicken katsu is incredible. Bento boxes come with tons of food: salad, fruit, rice, sauce, extra veggies, and choice of two main dishes (rolls, tempura, etc.) Sushi rolls are packed with ingredients and are super tasty. You will always leave feeling full. Ambiance: Red lights on shelf close to ceiling, creating a strip light like effect. Walls are filled with Japanese paintings. Seats are red and black, including booths. There is a sushi bar to sit at, and multiple TVs playing sports games. Price: A bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Ingredients are always super fresh and leave you super full. In reality, you won't find a sushi place much cheaper anyways. In all, amazing resturaunt!

Great sushi, nice restaurant. I also appreciated that the spicy sauce was spicy but not overwhelming (on the baja roll). Sushi chefs and wait staff were friendly and hrlpful

So I was visiting friends in Scott's Valley and I was hungry for some Japanese food. They said oh - go to Otoro. Off to lunch I went. Walking in during the busy lunch hour I was happily greeted and seated promptly. The place was clean, table, chairs, etc and I went off to wash my hands and the bathroom was very clean too so a great start. I panned the menu and they had many great roll choices but I decided on the two item bento. Bento boxes are always a staple fare and a measure if a good sushi place that makes good sushi can make good other food. One thing that became immediately obvious were the reasonable prices. A two item Bento with a sashimi choice was like $15 plus $2 for add on for six pieces of sashimi $17?? This is more like $22 to $25 where I go normally - so they must skimp on something I think to myself. I order my choice and an ice tea and as I wait my cordial and very nice server checks in with me after dropping my drinks off. Even with the very brisk lunch crowd filling the place - my food comes in 10 minutes. It looks great - rice, salad, sashimi, miso soup, three pieces of fresh fruit, and mixed tempura. I dig in - the sashimi is nice- no fish smell - firm and cold - as i take each bite - it's fresh - tasty and of a good grade vs many places that go for thin slices etc to try to hide the lower quality of their sashimi grade fish - not here - not needed as it's fresh and top quality, even on a $15 bento box lunch - awesome ! The tempura is perfectly cooked - crunch and light and airy - not soaked with grease or oil so you know they clean their deep fryer oil and cooked it at the proper high temp to get a good crisp with no sogginess at all. Salad is standard but their dressing has a little more tanginess than most so it's a nice touch. A healthy portion of miso soup with actual seaweed and tofu is a good start. All in all - great service with smiling and helpful staff, great food quality from the fresh generous sashimi slices to the crispy and flavorful tempura, to prompt service including seating, ordering, and food coming out all during a busy lunch rush - and just important - a very clean place from table to bathroom - that's important to me in a big way - Great Job Otoro - this will be on my go to list from now on, Kudos to the staff and ownership!!!

They don't know how to take reservations. Good food, came out at a good time, but we had a reservation and when we got to the restaurant it was completely full. They made us wait 20 minutes and sat a whole other table without a reservation before us.

The sushi is probably the best in the San Lorenzo Valley. It's a little pricey, but you pay for the quality.

The sushi here is soooo delicious! Perfect portions and the quality is so fresh and so good. Their dynamic oysters are one of our favs as they use aïoli sauce, and the specials are always tasty. We usually get the shishito peppers with truffle salt and the tuna tataki sashimi. We also get the sake flights with our sushi. It's a bit pricey but perfect for date nights. Forgot to take the picture of the sushi.

Dragon roll was great but Sushi Deluxe was less than expected. The fish was a bit swollen, not really fresh. Maybe good for roll bit not for Sashimi or

This is my husband's GO TO Sushi spot when he is in Santa Cruz. Finally made it there on our wedding anniversary food spots. Their rolls come out so pretty and the quality is spot on. Service is wonderful even though the place fills up for dinner quickly; service is great!

Delicious place for sushi. Walked in and was greeted by friendly staff. Got a table fairly quickly on a busy Saturday night. Service was great. The sushi was so fresh and delicious and the quality was unmatched for the price.
