Great taste! First time hitting this spot up! I have their Original Dave's Cosmic Sub, warm. You will thank me later!! The cashier who suggested warm the sub up, THANK YOU! Super tasty! Clean place, in and out. Try them out before you think of heading to subway!

Dave's is a cute little sandwich shop with lots of great options. Staff was friendly and patiently waited for me to make my decision. I got the meatball sub and I feel like I'm a bit of a meatball snob, but these had great flavor and were nice and *moist*, bread was nice and crispy. I just wish the sandwich was a bit hotter. The sauce was lukewarm, but the cheese was melted perfectly. Hubby got the #23 and agreed while good, it was just lukewarm. I took a bite and it was ham heavy, couldn't really taste the Turkey, but the banana peppers really helped with the acidity. Overall I would eat here again, probably try a cold sandwich next time!

Was craving a Sandwich in the area and decided to check it out. Did hit the spot but the Dave's original was too salty for my taste, meatball was better. Indoor seating was limited and outdoor was freezing and kind of dirty but the food was good. Would go back if in the area. Seduce was good and they were helpful with questions.

Stopped in here the other day and had quite a good Sando. I got the #13 (The Turkey Dave), which was piled high with cheese, fresh pepperoncinis, Dave's Cosmic Sauce (which I think is just a red wine vinaigrette or Italian dressing) and added bacon for a little extra flavor. Good proportions of ingredients and rich in flavor. (I personally didn't love the cheese choice, would try a Swiss or provolone next time) Service was nice and friendly, the space tidy and clean with bar stools and counter for dining in. Parking was easy in this lot too, an added bonus.

Friendly employee, tasty subs, most importantly, - we stopped here because we had a dog, and we were coming from the dog beach. And they have a cute little relaxed, fenced in outside patio, which was perfect. There's even shade, which we needed after being at the beach. Come for the patio in the shade and the dog friendliness... Stay for the sandwiches.

This place used to be really good up until they changed the whole staff recently. The last time I was there it was practically empty but I still managed to wait over 10 minutes for a cold, soggy sandwich drowned in mayonnaise and their cosmic sauce (which made it practically inedible). As for the guy making my sandwich- he had his long hair down, seemed to be wearing no gloves. Additionally my wife said she saw him standing behind the restaurant smoking a cigarette right before I went in, definitely explains why it smelled of smoke in there, but makes me think... did he even wash his hands before he made my food? This place isn't what it used to be like, I'm not sure if they got new owners but- really disappointing. Wont be coming here again!

It would be helpful if they ask how much sauce you want on your sandwich my sandwich had too much, otherwise it was good.
So the sandwich was super yummy, but it took them over 15 minutes to make it. It wasn't busy but still took a really long time.

The sandwich is good, but odd in it's assembly. It's put together is a way that's kinda sociocultural to eat, I found it easier to rearrange myself so I can eat it like a normal sub. I thought the shredded cheese was an odd choice for a sub. It's like this sandwich was designed by a pizza place with the cheese and pepperoni. It was still good and I'd eat here again.

Love this place! I get the Grateful Dave, has the best sauce and sprouts and fresh avocado! So delish! Great music and decor too. My go to when I want something fresh and yummy and quick for lunch in Seal Beach!

I'm originally from the Cleveland area and have personally seen the Dave's Cosmic Subs franchise grow over the years. The original, Original Dave's is located in Chagrin Falls, OH (if you ever get the chance to go I highly recommend it). As the brand franchised the experience hasn't always been consistent BUT I can say this location is doing it right. This Dave's is located in the middle of a little shopping plaza, so there is plenty of parking. The inside is super tiny, but they do have outdoor seating and a bathroom available. We stopped by right as they opened, before exploring the beach and the staff members were friendly and one was even from the Cleveland area as well. We ordered the Grateful Dave, The Crazy Dave, the Original and the Garden Burger. All of the sandwiches came out quickly, even though they warned us they had a huge order come in first thing that morning. We did see a sign that said the pickle spears are only available on request- they are a must for the full experience. The bread was toasty and crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The toppings were fresh and exactly what I expected and they were generous with the Dave's Sauce that truly sets these sandwiches apart. They do have a window outside that you can order from and they serve beer here. One thing I noticed about this location is they don't have the cold case with glass bottles of soda and their Dave's sauce to take home, but that could be due to not wanting glass on the beach and just how tiny the location is. The vibe is right on what you'd expect though and the sandwiches were great. I live in Sacramento now and bought an extra sandwich to take all the way home... If anyone wants to start a franchise closer to me I'd spend all my money there- these sandwiches are my favorite. Just another reason to plan more trips to the Long Beach area.

The food here is great. I highly recommend the Crazy Dave, Dave's meatball sub, and the Turkey Dave. The service at this location is horrendous. It took 33 minutes after my pickup time to get my food. There were only 2 employees and they were in no hurry to finish any orders. I don't expect stellar service when I get fast food, but this was exceptionally bad. As far as ambiance, the restaurant is small but there are a few bar seats inside and ample outdoor seating. If you're in any kind of hurry, I can't recommend this location. The food itself is great.
