The food was decent but man....do they not do gloves in Seal Beach!!!??? I had to watch them make my food while grabbing all ingredients bare handed. Working the register...taking out trash....then right back to dropping tomatoes on sandwiches. Honestly it messed the meal up for me before i took a bite. Due to limited time i prayed hard and ate as much as i could but sheesh....1 and done for me!

Ordered a vegetarian sandwich with everything on it. He asked me if I wanted onions & peppers and I said YES, EVERYTHING. He asked if I wanted it hot. Or cold and I said cold.
The bread was old and hard, crsipy like it had been toasted, and ruined the roof of my mouth. There were no peppers and no onions, no oil and vinegar, and a lot of cooked mushrooms.
With no dressing and very old hard bread, it was a very dry sandwhich.
There was a sprinkle of lettuce and a few slivers of avocado.
Probably it would have been fine if it was a meat sandwich, but since it was a vegetarian sandwich, there was a puney amount of produce to counteract the dry hard bread. But so many cooked mushrooms, it was like a mushroom sandwich that I didn't order.

If you are a Philly Cheesesteak lover this place is definitely worth it. They serve a variety of sides/fries/salads and Sandwiches.My favorite is "The Works" Cheesesteak.Freshly baked bread, tender & juicy steak sautéed with peppers, onions, mushrooms. Truly delicious.

I rarely do Google Reviews, but this place took me by surprise.I was staying at a hotel around here, and there was a taco bell next door but I wanted to explore. I found John's Phillly Grille which was pretty much a hole in the wall. But it was quite busy. Tons of people on their lunch and there was almost no space inside.I ordered got my food and left and holy GOD. This is no ordinary cheese steak. The bread is almost perfect first of all. Secondly they don't skimp on steak and cheese. The thing I really noticed though is that the peppers actually have some real kick to them. My sandwich was nice and spicy.The sandwich was so good that I saved the last two bites to savor them later. I don't know when I'll end up in Seal Beach again as I am from Colorado but I will definitely hit this place up.

Employees warn not to tip because they do not receive them and the owner keeps them all. That is wage theft and illegal - won't be supporting businesses like that.

We always visit here when we are in Seal Beach for the best Philly cheesesteaks. Huge portions with so much meat, freshly baked bread, tasty big chunky chips/fries, and friendly servers.

The decor is a little tired but don't let that put you off, the food is great.

they raised their food prices and lowered their food quality...the meat seems like it's minced, not steak...!!!
been going to the HB locations for years and all 3 locations seem to have lowered their food standards but raised their prices!!!
