High quality fish with an awesome sushi chef who created a fun and inviting environment. The sashimi and fish were all of very high quality. I also enjoyed the seasonal menu of interesting appetizers including the chili shrimp. Getting to talk with the chef and owner really added to the experience.

Slow service way over priced. The Tempura was good the Sea Bass was tiny and tasted fishy AKA Old! These 2 items were $55.00.

Little odd to come here for omakase but with Shin sang behind the counter it couldn't be any better. Have known him since japanese village and always been great. Fish quality is always excellent not too thick n not too thin. Always explain whether to dip in soy sauce or not. It's too bad since I just relocate to east coast. Long live Shin sang n koi!!

Restaurant Koi, a Japanese restaurant located in Seal Beach, is the perfect hangout for locals looking for a taste of Japan. A Japanese chef prepares the sushi at the counter, always pleasing the customer's taste buds and delighting the eye with his knife skills. There are many pseudo-Japanese restaurants in this area, but the quality of the sushi at Restaurant Koi was better than the sushi you get in Japan.
Please stop by if you are craving Japanese food.

Koi, you never disappoint.

Went here for a bday dinner Omakase. And since recently, we have had amazing Omakase in Japan, the bar was set pretty high, and boy, let me tell ya, it did not disappoint.

We sat by the bar and asked for Omakase with Shin-san. And I trust him with all my heart and tummy. Loool! All the fresh fishes, local and important was just so fresh and greatly prepared.

The Black cod appetizer truly melted in your mouth good.

Shin-san also made the birthday dinner by preparing a special dessert! Shin-san really made this 3xperience so worthwhile, the service is even better than we evrr had in Japan.

Definitely a splurge for Omakase but so worth it. So glad that a lot of the locals frequented there and the chefs knew rhem by name. Now, that's dedicqtion and love in their craft. The waitresses are always so courteous and attentive.

Koi, you didnt disappount me then and you didnt disappoint me now. My ever favorite place for Omakase in SoCal!

The best sushi experience!

Fun Sushi bar scene, but also capable of authentic, traditional Èdomaè Sushi. ? Nice selection of ultra premium Sakè (sah keh) to pair perfectly with high end Japanese cuisine. Sushi chefs are actually from Japan so you know you're getting the "Real McCoy".Of course, Koi will also make "American" Sushi rolls using mayo, sriracha, "eel sauce", Tempura flakes all at once if so desired for the uninitiated. Park in their own parking lot or street parking.
