We came on a rainy weekday and had the place to ourselves! We enjoyed our lunch of tea and small sandwiches. The big stand out was the lemon scones!

Cozy and friendly.

Service was slow and not very friendly. Very disappointed in the tea sandwiches and desserts. Sandwiches had VERY little filling and instead of cute tea cakes or cookies we got bread pudding, coffee cake and something apple and honestly, we could hardly tell what was what. The cranberry salad and tomato basil soup were very good. The patio was cute but kind of noisy being right on Main St. Maybe a higher, solid fence would block some of the noise.
When it came time to pay, it took forever to get the check. Then we had her split the check 5 ways and since I made the reservation, and paid for the deposit, I asked her to deduct that from my portion. She said " no problem". We waited another 10 minutes to get our cards and receipts and she didn't split it properly. Very frustrating. When paying $30-50/person, I expect better overall in service and food. Will not come back.

Service is awful and they’re rude. But the scones and clotted cream and jam are so delicious I keep coming back.

I had a very disappointing experience at McKenna’s Tea Cottage. The sandwiches were subpar, but the worst part was my girlfriend's salad, which was literally covered in flies and aphids. When we informed the waiter, they acted like we were inconveniencing them rather than addressing the issue professionally. There was no apology, and it felt like they didn't take the problem seriously at all. Despite the situation, we weren't offered any discount or compensation. We ultimately didn’t feel comfortable eating anything else, but the staff made us feel like we were overreacting. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—terrible food and even worse service.

Upon arriving 15 early and the 2nd in my party of 3 to arrive, we were asked to wait for the 3rd person before being seated. After 30 min and sitting outside in the sun, we went in to ask if we could be seated. Our 3rd person was walking over from her parking spot. In a very condescending voice I was told when your whole party arrives. I asked could we at least get some water we have been waiting outside and we are thirsty. They came with 2 glasses of water and asked us to sit in the chairs/waiting area until our whole party arrived. 3rd person walked up before I even took a sip and they sat us. I felt the staff was incredibly rude. We were there to spend our money on tea and some food and they wouldn’t seat us so we would be more comfortable and maybe have some water. Not impressed and we will not be back. Terrible attitude and that service is not putting your paying customer first and making sure you make them feel welcome to your establishment. Sad part is it was all of our first time … and last time going there. I’m sorry McKenna. You need better staff. You have a great concept, but you need to know the customer and what their minimum expectations would be, and that’s not to mention you had NO quiche at all which is a big part of the menu. I could never stay in business without putting the feeling of value and comfort to my clients. To bad.

Super cute location and outside garden, however, the scones were pretty doughy and the clotted cream was not clotted cream. I’ve had clotted cream and this was not it. It tasted sour. I won’t lie, I was super disappointed.

My mom and I have been coming here for years. This place has amazing tea, service, and scones. They're sandwiches I look forward to because they are so fresh and delicious. The location is beautiful and it's lovely to sit outside when the weather is nice and sunny.

We went today, party of five to enjoy Mother’s Day weekend. $265 for three adults and two children. Our reservations were at noon and water hit our table at 1 PM. All the food was cold except for the biscuits and scones. The sandwiches that were supposed to be hot, were cold and stiff. You get about half a glass of sparkling cider and if you’d like a refill it’s extra. It took two full hours for us to get our entire meal. The kids meals came first and almost 40 minutes later the adult tray showed up. The bathrooms smell, the building so badly needs to be refurbished. I want my money back. It was a horrible time. Not even being in good company made up for it. We were all starving.
