I absolutely would not go to this restaurant again! A friend had gone and told me that at their happy hour they were able to choose the type of fish for their fish tacos and it was good.
So, I went and was told that the owner had now changed his mind and would no longer allow customers to choose the fish in their fish tacos. I don’t eat raw fish and everything else was raw fish except the calamari. My friend had the Poke bowl, said that it was salty and small.
Having ocean videos on the big scenes in the background is great especially with surfers or people fishing with catch and release, but the videos they had in the background while we were eating were of catch and gutting the fish with blood and guts repeated over and over. I wouldn’t want to go to a steak house either and see a video of someone butchering a cow with blood and guts while I was eating steak. A complete disappointment for sure!

Great establishment! Had a beer and a bite as we stopped in to for a pick up. Not only is the restaurant and bar 5 stars but they process fresh caught fish! 5 stars experience. They picked up the fish on the boat; processed and ready for pick up in professional packages 2 days later!

What do I expect when wifey and I go out for dinner? Good service, nice environment, I prefer a quiet place, tasty well seasoned food, salted to perfection,
fair prices and finally a good vibe.
Did Seal Beach Fish Company meet all my criteria.... no.
The waiters and waitresses were very nice
but newbies, not necessarily bad, but newbies never the less.
The food... I got fried calamari, not bad but the mayo/aeoli with rosemary was questionable, the other sauce was really tasty so that made up for the odd tasting mayo concoction.
The Ceviche was the biggest surprise of the evening, at $20+ you expect a little bit more than small coffee cup worth of Ceviche. Tasty but the stingy portion was
shocking.
My Fish platter (rock fish) was served with no intention of making it look good.
Tasty but no salt (sigh). The French fries were excellent with a perfect amount of salt. None of these issues are hard to fix
but with so many excellent restaurants in the area I would take a hard look at all these issues.
We spent $100 with a 15% tip (we usually give 20%+) and that was without any alcohol or soft drinks :(
And lastly the place felt like sitting in a refrigerator, very uncomfortable.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! Very very fresh seafood, they will tell you what they catch each day and only serve you the freshest fish.
We had tuna poke bowl and ceviche. This was one of the best meals we had in LA.

We finally decided to give this place a try. VERY happy that we did. Booth in back was cozy. Started with Edamame & Calimari. Both fantastic! Sauces for the calamari I wanted to drink one and spread the other one on everything. We had 4 entrees: Shrimp enchiladas, fish & chips, fish sandwich which was salmon, and the crab roll. Excellent fresh catch on all. We went early so place was cozy and not too loud. Ambience was nice also. Only request I would love to see for me would be to add a tiny coleslaw and toss with that spicy calamari sauce. Just need a little fresh crunch with my fish & chips to break up the two fried items. Great job. Glad to add you to one of my close proximity favs. Will be back!
Thanks

Fresh catch fish in a casual yet modern atmosphere. The restaurant is located inside the Vons strip mall. The fresh catches change daily but when we went they had Catalina halibut, Hawaiian swordfish, and Santa Barbara rockfish among other choices. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The fish was well cooked and the Dungeness crab sandwich had a lot of crab. We also tried the key lime pie which was great. Would definitely return here!
Parking: Plenty of parking in strip mall lot

This is by far the BEST freshly made food I have ever had. My favorite were the fish tacos. The hybrid tortillas are made there. A combination of flower and corn. A definite must try!!!! We will definitely drive from the San Gabriel to eat there again and again!
