I ordered a chicken chimichanga, but got beef. It took awhile, so I ate it anyway. It wasn't very good and it's my first chimichanga that didn't come with guacamole. It wasn't crispy either. Friendly service but got 2 out 4 of our orders wrong.

We stopped in for the Carne Asada and the Hang 10 cocktail and lucked out by arriving during happy hour — affordable and perfect for our food needs. As a light eater, I was thrilled. The cocktails are made with wine instead of hard liquor, which was surprisingly refreshing and ideal for a midday beach outing. This spot is perfect for wine lovers and taco enthusiasts alike.
The meat was exceptionally tender, never dry, and the salsa was spot-on. Ingredients were fresh and vibrant, and the portion sizes were satisfying without feeling overwhelming — perfect for lighter appetites. We were even offered more chips after we’d already finished our meal and paid, which was such a thoughtful touch. Franky gave exceptional service!
The bathrooms were clean (not just masked with air freshener), and the service felt genuinely attentive. While we came for the Carne Asada, we learned they’re especially known for their fish tacos and that they have a second location serving the same drinks but with hard liquor.
A wonderful beachside find — fresh, flavorful, and refreshingly relaxed.

This gotta be the best tasting mexican I have ever had not coming from Mexico itself. You won't be disappointed coming here.

Four of us went in for dinner and there just happened to be a local rock band tuning up when we sat down ten feet from the stage. Great loud Music to enjoy with dinner and met the band. The place is a little bit cramped when they are full but we still had great service.
Super fun place!
Fun place with great food.
This place used to be awesome, but not anymore. Go to a different taco surf!
Two months ago, the service and the food went major downhill. I usually dine in and occasionally get takeout. We visit all the taco surfs, so we know what is different from restaurant to restaurant.
I order the same thing every single time.
The past 3 out of 4 visits, the salsa has had no flavor, we didn't even take any home, like usual. The last 3 of 4 times in a row, my tacos were missing guacamole, and the amount of lettuce had reduced to 1/4 of the usual amount. Today, when I ordered takeout, I told them not to forget the guacamole, so instead they didn't give me cheese and I got a pinch of lettuce, even less than the reduced amount previous, and a 1/4 teaspoon of Pico de gallo topping,
They didn't give me the salsa that comes with each order. I had asked for an extra ranch for my salad, and I didn't give that.
When I went in to ask for the missing salsa and the missing extra ranch, I was given a bad attitude, but this girl has given me a bad attitude when dining in the last two months. The side salad has more tomatoes than lettuce and 1/4 of the usual cheese. The lettuce is giant chunks. All of these comments are what is different from the past 35 years of eating here.
I've been going here for decades.
We noticed the changes about 7 visits ago, which is about 2 months.
This is the worst it's ever been. It's never been this bad before, but it's to the point that we are no longer going to this taco surf. We will avoid the bad attitudes and horrible kitchen staff here.
None of the other Taco Surf's have this problem with food.
We had Taco Surf cater our fiesta! The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone raved about it! The service was superior! I will never use another restaurant to cater an event absolutely perfection!
Welcoming staff!! Never let our chips and salsa go empty! Food was fresh and tasty!!

Best Baja fish tacos. An old stand-by.
Was there to have lunch. Friend wanted to eat there.
I hadn't been there in a couple years as last meal ...a tornado was very ordinary. Again, though friendly and prompt service...the food is on a scale with Taco Bell...but prices are higher.
They need to do alot better!!!
They are in a prime spot on The main drag and close to the beach and pier....so this owner apparently just doesn't care.
Kid-friendliness: Casual beach setting...appropriate for my friends well behaved 3yr old.

Their Ensenada shrimp tacos are the best shrimp tacos I’ve had in California! Service and food is always amazing.

I loved this place! Great, big portions of wonderful Mexican food! I had two of the sea food tacos, the shrimp and their regular one, and both were wonderful. Also, I came in on a hot day, and had a margarita, and let me tell you, that was gone quickly! It was delish!
