Highly recommended when in Monterey/Seaside. The service was great, the owner was really nice and friendly. The classic cuban samdwich was excellent. We also tried the coffee. The cortado and cafe con lechce were both great. We went back again before we left for more coffee.

Stopped by because I was curious about the Cuban sandwich. Was my first one and it was really good will go again anytime I'm in Monterey. Also tried the con leche coffee that was good as well. Staff was friendly. 5 stars

Ordered mushroom empanadas, crunchy slaw and roasted potatoes. Very delicious. Looking forward to my next visit to try a cubano and mojito. Thank you for being friendly, clean, and offering a fresh tasty meal. Forgot to add the decor is actually welcoming for it being a modern industrial decor. Very cute.

So pleased to find a local Cuban restaurant, and goodness it sure did deliver. Gladys and Gabby cooked up some incredible dishes (we literally ordered one of everything) and every bite was incredible. Do yourself a favor and try as much as your stomach allows (take a friend and share?) you're going to want to experience everything this lovely establishment has to offer. I think it worth mentioning that I grabbed two extra guava and cheese pastries on the way out... along with an iced café Babaloo! Looking forward to enjoying this place on many more occasions :) There would be photos attached if not for me ravenously consuming everything upon arrival lol

Ordered the Classic Cubano sandwich. Shredded pork was dry, but pickle and mustard made up for it.

My friend and I went to try it for the first time and the workers were very rude. They were rude and seemed annoyed our entire time we ate there. My friend asked the worker where mangoo was from and the worker misheard her question and said "you look like you want to order more food what do you want" In a rude way. Then, the other worker forgot my Empanada in my order and gave it to my friend by accident. My friend kindly asked the lady to give me the empanada and the woman behind the counter grabbed an empanada, THREW it on the tray and stuck it in the oven. We were very uncomfortable the entire time because of how rude the workers were being. The Cubano sandwhich was great but the service was definitely NOT.

Scrolling through the restaurant list on Yelp, this Cuban sandwich place stood out to me. I half expected to hear Desi Arnaz to be serenading the customers as e walk in. The building itself is nice and airy. Lots of natural lighting and spacious. The Classic Cuban was nicely filled with a good amount of ham and pulled pork nestled in a perfectly toasted sourdough bun. It is a big enough sandwich to feed two people. The Havana is a generous serving of braised beef with a delicious sauce, topped with sliced plantains. It is so good! Served only from Thursday-Saturday, I have a feeling that it takes a long time to slowly and carefully braise the beef to reach this fork tender stage. The drinks were good too. I really liked the cafè Babaloo as it had a subtle taste of coconut which cut down on the sweetness. The chocolate whipped cream was a nice touch. The mojito was a tad sweet for my taste.
We had the fish sandwiches for lunch today. It was a white fish that was very tender and not overpowering. The seasoning was excellent. The bread was very fresh and soft. Great service, lots of helpful staff, and like the decor. We will be back on our next trip to Seaside.

This place has the most incredible lunch in Monterey!!! The food and service is to die for. I always leave here with a smile. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re missing out. Just yum!

We had the classic Cuban sandwich which was huge with warm crunchy bread melted cheese and amazing mojo pulled pork. The ham and pickles on top took it too the next level. We also had a mushroom empanada that was rich and spicy tucked in a beautifully tender dough. We washed it all down with a fabulous non alcoholic sparkling strawberry and mint mojito. My wife's favorite was the guava and cheese empanada which paired perfectly with the Cuban coffee. We also loved the inviting environment which included the friendliness of the owner the large wood slab community tables, Cuban music and art THIS PLACE IS WORTH GOING OUT OF YOUR WAY TO VISIT!
