Great food, good salsa and chips though they give you a small container of salsa. The dining area is very small if you plan on eating indoors, and the service was good, but a little slow, I would go back again.

We've been to Barba Azul three times in the past year, and each time we've left disappointed. We really wanted to like this place, because we know the owner of El Pollo Rey started up Barba Azul, and we LOVE El Pollo Rey. However, we've given up on Barba Azul. On our last visit, we ordered the grilled fish taco, Baja fish taco, and shrimp ceviche. The grilled fish smelled old and fishy as soon as it came out, and we ended up taking it home to feed to the dog. The Baja fish taco was also very obviously old. The shrimp ceviche had no shrimp in it that I could see -- it had some grey stuff in amongst the salsa that may have been fish or squid, maybe octopus. It was not that good. We visited around 11am on a Friday so maybe we came on a day that did not have fresh fish.

A nice taco experience for me. I enjoyed a shrimp taco and chased it with a Surf & Turf taco. The salsa isn't all that to look at, but it is exceptional on the taste buds! I will visit again!

Absolutely fantastic food. I’ve been to a lot of Mexican restaurants in this area and this one is by far the best. A little more expensive but totally worth it. I had the fish tacos and shrimp burrito.

I'm not quite sure what all the hype is about. Don't get me wrong, it was "good" but a 4.8 rating? Maybe I'm just spoiled by L.A. tacos. The fish tacos were good. The tuna cevice was not the best quality tuna which made it just "okay" - YMMV

Little hole in the wall place in Seaside by Monterey. My craving for shrimp ceviche brought me here. It's small inside and too chilly at the moment to sit outside. Ordered the aguachiles (black) instead of the ceviche once I glanced at the menu. Also had a shrimp taco enchilado which was pretty spicy for my usual taste but it was still delicious! Price range was affordable for seafood

Wow! Unreal fish tacos. I was traveling through Monterey and had to stop here twice they were so good. Very fresh and best fish tacos I've ever had.

Amazing food! Fresh and spicy guacamole made to order was perfect, fish tacos and camarones al mojo de ajo were incredible. Kids grilled salmon was delicious. Service was perfect, super nice, even when our son spilled his fancy blue lemonade! Can't wait to come back to this spotless, festive restaurant!

This place was fire. The food was fresh and authentic Mexican seafood. Service was excellent and the chefs music taste was great as well. Definitely would recommend and 100% will come again.
