Huge menu with very filling plates! The waitresses were super attentive and our food came out quickly, even though it was pretty busy around 1 pm on a Monday. I tried the Caldo 7 Mares and the Molcajete Oaxaqueño — both were absolutely delicious! I’ve also had their Coffee Cake and it’s a 10/10 — so moist and full of flavor. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re ever in the Seaside area!

After 6 visits, I can tell you that La Tortuga is the perfect place to grab breakfast or lunch (I haven't yet tried dinner but I definitely will). The sandwiches are really excellent! Great balance of flavors, generous portions, and they don't skimp on the meat. The breakfast sandwiches are big enough for two meals - I eat half and save the other half for lunch. The coffee there is very good and served in a giant cup with refills. The table chips and salsa are really good too. I've had very good service every visit - attentive but not over-attentive. The vibe is relaxing - great for doing some work, catching up on texts, or just chilling. ¡Buenissimo!

I am a local from Monterey and I've enjoyed this establishment since childhood. Their food is so tasteful and memorable. They truly integrate the Oaxacan culture into their food, keeping it as authentic as possible.
My favorite thing I love to order that I would recommend would be their chicken mole or tortas. Their pastels (cakes) are very delicious as well. Top restaurant I would personally recommend in Monterey
