Being new to the area I have no idea what is good around here. Then by happenstance I found Taco’s California Grill. This is a pivotal moment in my life because had the BEST SALMON TACOS of my life! I have food sensitivities and so when I find something that works I greatly appreciate it. With that being said, I was greatly impressed they had a “Blue Zone,” menu. It’s noteworthy the added menu was small but they had it. All in all, I will be forever going back for the Salmon Taco’s!!!

The best kept secret in Monterey! First of all the FRESH hand-made corn tortillas! OMG! Best in town without question. Huevos rancheros and Chilaquiles were amazing! Authentic. You want spicy? They have the spicy. You prefer mild? Their tomatillo is super mild and DELICIOUS! Fast service with a smile. Plenty of parking. AND THE PRICES ARE SO LOW

10/10 every time. mine & my boyfriend’s favorite is the huevos rancheros, right below that are the chilaquiles & chorizo breakfast burrito. the salsa is really what makes everything so good here

Wonderful local mexican style diner. They had a fantastic carne asada plate and accommodated substituting grilled veggies for the traditional rice and beans. Their tortillas were fresh hot and wonderful! Service was fast and friendly. A variety of tables inside along with a small front and larger side patio. The kind of home town low key place I like to find when traveling for a relaxing lunch or dinner!

If you're looking for some decent Mexican food for a decent price, this is a decent option. It's definitely not the best Mexican place around, but it's also far from the worst. Same goes for price: affordable but not dirt cheap. The food here isn't anything to write home about; that is, the meat isn't the greatest quality and the portion sizes are a little small. However, the flavor is good. The beans are hit or miss since they sometimes come out a little cold. Also, if it gets busy (not very common), it's a good idea to know how to speak a little Spanish. The servers are pretty nice but they sometimes seem like they're rushing the customer a little. Atmosphere is great; no complaints here.I order a different thing every time I come here (four times so far) since none of the individual items I've tried have stood out to me as amazing. Coming from San Diego, I know what to look for when ordering top-notch Mexican. This place hasn't hit that mark yet for me.
Parking: This place doesn't have a good selection of parking. I recommend parking on the street to the right of it.
