After arriving for our wine tasting today, September 19, 2025, we were so excited to share the experience of patronizing one of our own. My daughter planned this for my husband’s first experience at a winery only to be disappointed and no one was there. What type of business does this after we have confirmed and paid. You do not answer the phone and the doors are locked. I advise you to think long and hard before choosing this establishment. We traveled all the way from Georgia to share this with you, only to make us form a negative opinion.
We did website work for them over a year ago and they never paid us. Emails and phone calls go unanswered and invoices sent weekly. Get paid first.
The customer service for wine club members is some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. We have been trying to cancel our membership for over a year, have been charged for shipments that were never received, and no one answers the phone or responds to emails. Truly the most bizarre, unprofessional, ridiculous customer service practices I’ve ever encountered.
EDIT 8/20 including my husband's review below. We have filed a complaint with the BBB
This business does not care about it's customers and is so impossible to reach it's almost comical.
I was a long-term customer of Fog Crest. In 2024 we received a shipment of wine where all the wine in the shipment was broken. In typical situations, wineries offer replacement of broken bottles, but Fog Crest was impossible to reach in spite of (literally) 50 phone calls and emails.
Since I couldn't reach them, I canceled my subscription to their wine club.
Flash forward a few months, they charge me another ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but never ship me any wine (in spite of the fact that I had already canceled online). Again, dozens of calls and emails, no answer and no response. Still trying.
A few months after that, they charge me ANOTHER ~$500 on my credit card for wine, but don't ship that wine to me either.
After probably 100 calls and emails, I finally talk to the wine club coordinator on the phone. She of course acknowledges my dozens of messages, and acknowledges my situation. She says she will replace the wine that was broken and figure out why they've been charging me for wine I haven't been receiving and make it right. But that she can't talk right now and she'd call me back with more information.
That was a month ago. I've now called again dozens of times, and emailed. No response. Called and emailed the owner, no response.
This is borderline criminal: $1,500 in charges for undelivered product, a non-existent customer service experience, and an online system so archaic that it doesn't process your cancelation and continues to charge you for product.
Do your self a favor and avoid Fog Crest at all costs.
They invoiced my club member wine shipment September 29th, though they never shipped it. Sent numerous emails and voice mails with no response. Looking at various past reviews, seems to be a trend. Sonoma County DA’s office notified and is handling.
Quiet place to enjoy, beautiful view, generous portions of wine for tasting. Will come back again.
Fog Crest is an incredible Winery in Sonoma County just a short drive from Sebastopol. The wines are superb starting with a rose two chardonnay's and two Reserve Pinot noirs to delight yourself with this winery. Connie runs tasting room with a beautiful smile
We had a wonderful time here tasting Chardonnays and Pinots. Beautiful landscape, classy tasting room, incredible wine. And wonderful, thoughtful service from Connie. A very relaxing and welcoming place. : )
Unfriendly
Horrible experience! We drove an hour and a half to this retreat to be overwhelming disappointed. We arrived 15 minutes early for our appointment and immediately felt like we were not welcome and or expected. The greeter said rudely “it will be a while” so hang tight. After 30 minutes we were finally seated outside to be taken away by a swarm of yellow jackets. “She” our greeter/waitress basically suggested they are apart of nature and we needed to deal with it. The wine pours had pieces of cork in them and the light bits were thrown together. DO NOT waste your time here. Only thing beautiful was the ground because the people sucked.
Beautiful grounds and views. We loved every wine in the tasting!

After ten years of membership, we had a case of wine show up with every bottle damaged. After a dozen emails and a dozen voicemails with no return call or message, what is left to do but cancel our membership? Wine is good, views are spectacular, but nothing is worth being completely ignored. 0/10 customer care and 0/10 respect given to long term members. Heed my advice: Enjoy the wine in person - avoid the wine club!
This was a great stop in my too short Sonoma County wine weekend, I bought a bottle of rosé to take home ?
Very beautifully located winery with fantastic wines. Very personable, interested, humorous hostess. A great experience!
The winery is beautifully situated. The wines are excellent! We received an extremely warm welcome. For us it was one of the highlights of our wine trip through California. Again any time. Tip: call beforehand.
Lovely setting. The wines were all good.
