Enjoyed the atmosphere and excellent service. Unfortunately the food lacked flavor and was pretty ordinary. I was looking forward to the pavlova (an Aussie dessert) but it was shockingly hard and stale! It should be light and fluffy meringue, if you know it. Cocktails and fries were very good.

Decided to give Goldfinch a try while visiting the local area. I want to start off by saying our waitress was amazing. She made us a personal list of places to visit in the area.

But moving past that, the food wasn’t my favorite. We started off with focaccia bread and the rosemary was overbearing. My favorite dish was the butter poached potatoes. Light but savory.

For dinner I got the grilled 10 oz angus hanger steak. It comes with caramelized peppers and potato pave. The steak had a weird taste to it and the peppers covered the dish which ruined it in my opinion. The red wine sauce took away from the cut as well. I didn’t love the dish. When the server assistant came over to ask if I was all set, I said yes, and she insinuated a box and I said “no thank you” .. So she threw my fork onto the plate, rolled her eyes and stormed away. I thought that was a bit rude.

For the price-point, and food selection, I wouldn’t come back. For the cocktails and kind waitress, I would visit again!

A little gem in downtown Sebastopol. Birthday dinner for 2. Started with mixed marinated olives and grilled trumpet mushrooms - a bit spicy yet nicely balanced. Then the melt-in-your-mouth airy light tempura fried squash blossoms with fresh heirloom tomato sauce and Parmesan Next the red gem Caesar - super savory and generous serving for two to split. The main course - grilled 10 ounce hanger steak with the uber yummy crispy potato pave and point Reyes blue cheese. A small yet carefully chosen wine list featuring local favorites. And to top it off a super scrumptious pavlova - a delectable crispy meringue bowl filled with tangy lemon curd, paired with a blueberry compote. Our charming server Jessica was on top of the timing and paced our meal perfectly.

Goldfinch in Sebastopol is not a restaurant—it’s a full-blown lifestyle decision. Open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday and dinner all week long (because apparently sleep is for the weak), this place has singlehandedly ruined every other meal I’ll ever eat.

Lunch here feels like you’re auditioning for the role of “Cool Person Who Eats Thoughtfully Sourced Food” in an indie film. Dinner? That’s when things get serious—like, “I might start a biodynamic vineyard after this entrée” serious.

The food is ridiculous in the best way. You’ll order something simple like a salad, and it shows up looking like it’s been styled by Vogue. Every bite whispers, “Your palate is now too sophisticated for drive-thru fries, peasant.” My friend had the chicken and swore it was raised on affirmations and free jazz before being lightly seasoned and blessed by a crystal.

The cocktails? Dangerous. You sip one and suddenly you’re convinced you can play the banjo or start a kombucha empire. By the second, you’re ready to buy property in Sebastopol and argue about fermentation at the farmers market.

Basically, Goldfinch is open for lunch midweek and all weekend so you can pretend to be a casually glamorous foodie, and open for dinner every night so you can fully commit to the lifestyle. Forget eating—this is a spiritual awakening with table service.

Exceptional food, I mean really really yummy and beautiful. Get the beet dish, it's incredible! The pasta was so fresh with peas and a lovely sauce. If you like steak, look no more!! I love this place and it's in Sebastopol which makes it a gem for us locals. If you are coming into town for any reason, make sure you come check this place out. I always bring my friends and family here when they visit.

Went to celebrate my husbands birthday and it did not disappoint. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. We had someone with us with celiac disease and our wait staff went through the entire menu with her showing what was available to her. Food was delicious ! Food was beautiful and flavors were wonderful. I loved the pace at which they brought out our food. It was a slower pace. It was perfect to enjoy the ambiance and company all while not feeling rushed through anything . All and all a great evening. Must try!

I was very excited to try this restaurant, it was where the old K&L Bistro used to be that I have such fond memories of. What a terrific experience, the space is beautiful, the staff welcoming, and the food was not only delicious, but spectacular looking as well. I had the Beet Salad with yogurt sauce and it was absolutely divine, along with the Focaccia basket. I will be back.

great aesthetic. The Caesar salad, grilled zucchini, and the rosemary focaccia were all delicious. The cocktail looked really yummy.

great everything...we went for happy hour and the food was amazing. the bartender was great and so were the cocktails. Really clean and happy with it all.. if i had to critique anything it would be one too many stools at the bar...i'm tiny and it was really awkward trying to move the stool with about 1-2" on either side. otherwise, very impressed, i will be back!

Loved everything that was brought to our table. Very pleasantly surprised. Our server was friendly and efficient. The chicken main course was off the hook good. Loved it.

I had a salad niscoise. I think the tuna had seendisappointment. My digestive system got rid of it ASAP. Such a disappountment. The wine list of bubbles was divine. Our service was adequate.
