One of my favorite wineries. Such a hidden gem. The owner was super nice and very fun to chat with. The experience was very relaxing and intimate. Went here with my brother a few years ago and looking to go back next time I'm in the area. I thought I was only a white wine girly but was blown away by the cab!
Most of my family was visiting California for the first time, and we wanted to find a family-friendly winery, as our age range was from 4 to 68 for the six of us. After searching online, I came across this 5-star reviewed winery and thought it sounded different and interesting. We decided to give it a try, and man, they did not disappoint! David and Priscilla were outstanding hosts! This is not your typical snooty wine tasting. We brought some lunch and sat outside at a picnic bench with amazing scenery, horses, dogs, and really cool cars surrounding us. The kids played with the dogs and ran around while the three adults tasted amazing wine and had even more amazing conversation. Talking to David as he shared his stories with us was like talking to an old friend we’ve known for years. I 100% recommend this winery, both for the wine and for the experience. Thank you for helping us create such wonderful memories! Can’t wait to get our order!
We had such an amazing and unique experience visiting Moondance Cellars. The wine is incredible and owners P and David are so gracious and made our group of 5 feel so special with our private tasting on their farm. Their dog Mike is the sweetest little greeter and we loved watching him and their horses roam around on their property while we drank wine. This was our favorite stop out of everything we did on our weekend visiting Santa Rosa! I cant wait to be back one day!
What a hidden gem off the beaten path! As I was searching for wineries in Sonoma, I came across the website for Moondance Cellars. I was intrigued by the idea of tasting wine while visiting with horses and dogs. My partner was equally excited by the opportunity to explore a few stellar classic cars. Our expectations were met and exceeded! David and Priscilla are a husband/wife duo who have been making wine on their own terms, using both standard and innovative techniques. They have a variety of whites (chardonnay) and reds (pinot noir, merlot, cabernet sauvignon). There was not a single wine that I did not enjoy. My two favorites were the pinot and cab. During the tasting, David explained his whole process to us, including the history of Moondance. While he was speaking with us, it was clear that his sole focus was on us, and he wanted to get to know us. After the wine tasting, David gave us an extra pour and gave us a tour of the property. We were able to say hello to Teddy (a horse) and explore several classic cars. It felt like a home away from home.Visiting Moondance Cellars was spectacular. I cannot recommend it more highly. We are going home members of Moondance's Wine Club so that we can enjoy David and Priscilla's wine year round. Moondance is absolutely worth a visit. Thank you to David and Priscilla!
We came upon the cellars on a whim, just following our noses. We drove onto the property and were transported to "Old California" complete with Ranch, live stock, tractors and vintage cars. The wine hosting was NOT glitzy but the wine was good.
Go here! They are wonderful and they have amazing wine!!!!
Owners Dave and Priscilla were wonderful and engaging hosts. Small boutique winery. Fantastic wines. I joined their wine club on the spot and look forward to joining them for at least one event a year.
I wasn’t sure what to expect driving into Moondance. It looks more like a farm than a vineyard. They have a nice dog and a mini horse roaming the grounds. It was very chill. Priscilla was great to talk to and the wines were good.
Stunning wines, people and horses too!
This is not your postcard castle-like winery up on the hill. It’s a small and rustic winery that purchases grapes from surrounding vineyards to make their own wines and was somewhat difficult to find. But our persistence paid off. Priscilla was super friendly and took a lot of care with us as we went through the tastings of 6 different wines from this homely winery In Sebastopol. With a nod to Van Morrison and a dog named Mike, how can you possibly go wrong with this cute if unusual little spot!

Great visit. Great wine. Even though the Google page doesn’t mention that visits are by appointment only, David opened his winery to us when we showed up at his gate without an appointment. Wonderful host!
Great find! Dave and Priscilla are great hosts and their wines are fantastic. Real wine makers none of the mass produced stuff you find these days.
Had a wonderful afternoon tasting at Moondance Cellars. The owners provide a really personal experience and of course the wine is outstanding.
Sadly we didn't get to meet Dave's wife as she was away when we visited. From reading the other reviews its the only thing we missed. My girlfriend and I were on a day trip and visiting Moondance. Our guide called Dave on the way and he welcomed us in 45 mins or so later. I forget Dave's dogs name but the dog was great. The wine was even better. I'd call it outstanding. And if you really want to be impressed ask to see the cars.
P and David are the best! Such a beautiful place and amazing wines. They’re open every day by appointment only. Highly recommended. Be sure to get David to show you his sports cars in the garage!
