We arrived in Sebastopol late and found Piala when we were looking for places that would be open past 9. We are SO glad we did! We had an incredible time. From the amazing food to wonderful conversation with the very friendly and generous owner to the awesome playlist. It was a meal we will remember! (See the delicious pistachio honey cake I enjoyed for dessert). Run don’t walk!

Piala is Sebastopol’s best-kept culinary secret. Each dish offers a hearty bite, with each chew made with love.
I’d recommend starting with the soft, doughy minced meat dumplings. To eat in traditional fashion, pinch the tip of the dumpling and nibble around some of the exterior to sip the juice, and then eat the rest!
There’s also the tender pork belly dish that’s perfectly seasoned, soft, and warm. The chicken skewers are amazing too.
The best part of this culinary experience is playing with flavors by spooning some spicy chili or sweet plum sauces over your proteins—and top it all off with crunchy, tangy pickled onions that’ll balance the richness of other dishes and provide a refreshing textural contrast.
10/10! ?

My friends and I were very disappointed. Everything was over salted and just not that good. I love Georgian food and was very excited to try this place, but the quality of food is just not there. I will not come back.

Piala was recommended to us by the friendly folks at the Horse & Plow tasting room (also highly recommended) and did not disappoint.
The vibe inside is great... dimly lit, lots of energy, and on this night excellent jazz music chosen by the staff.
We enjoyed each dish that came out, including the rabbit and sour plum dumplings, a gorgeous salad, pomegranate chicken skewers, and a bread/cheese dish with an amazing bean soup.
Just an overall excellent experience and will absolutely return when we are in Sebastopol the next time!

Vegan friendly. The wait staff knew what could be made vegan without having to check in back. Everything feels authentic. Pretty decor. Fresh herbs. I had a tarragon lemonade that was great. My favorite food was the stuffed pepper that came with the flat bread and the other two appetizers. The condiments were great and I believe that they were also made there. My favorite condiment was the plum sauce. The olives are yummy and not too salty. There is free parking in a small lot but there is street parking nearby.

Interesting food and wine. Odd location in a strip mall and it's crowded and dark. Try the "Amber" white wines.

Was there a couple weeks ago. Can't say I was impressed. For what they are charging the food was kind of ok, not terrible, but barely mid. Found the dishes in general to be rather bland, the rabbit "stew" was boiled rabbit in broth and slightly bitter. The dumplings were good.
The service was not great. The waitress was friendly, but not good at waiting. She would literally walk up, ask if f we needed anything, then walk away before anyone could respond. It was incredibly difficult to get her attention. Not once during our meal in which we tried many different things did she clear away dirty and empty dishes. We even stacked things and and put them at the end of the table to make room for the next dishes, and still she left them there. And for an idea of how busy it was... we were the only table when we got there, the only table when we left, and while we were there 2 other tables of 2 came and left. So, not busy.
Then when it was time to pay got hit with the mandatory 20% "service fee." When I asked if was gratuity she said "it's a fee that goes to the staff," when I asked again she quietly said "yes, it's the gratuity" all the while the payment system is asking if you would like to add a tip.

The food is delicious, especially the sheep's milk cheese, and the atmosphere is great. There's nothing else like it in the North Bay.

Absolutely love this place! We have gone to two Supras at Piala. They are a dining experience like no other: shared tables creating a sense of community & belonging, endless wine & toasts, an abundance of fabulous Georgian cuisine, and at the end a culmination that results in warm smiling faces, satisfied bellies, new friends and a table decorated with a bounty of used vessels that represent the plenty of the feast. Well done!

Finally, Sebastopol has a late-night go to spot for fantastic food and great atmosphere! This is an authentic Georgian experience, complete with Georgian wines. We love the comfort food here. Very fresh and innovative! The owner is quite attentive and accommodating. I would give it 5+ stars, but the wine list is somewhat limited, primarily offering Georgian wines, which are nice but I would prefer to have some local wine to choose from as well.? They are open until 10:30 pm during the week.We will be back!
