The food was a delicate mix of Mediterranean flavors. A daring mix of ingredients that challenged and amazed our palates. My wife and I enjoyed tasting each of these delicate dishes. We had to ask for a slice of bread to finish our dishes. Even the sourdough slice came toasted just as it should be!

Too bad we had only the tin octopus. They didn’t have the seasonal charred octopus. You can skip the tin fish imho.

For wine we had the French Crozes-hermitage from the Rhône valley. A sure bet that did not deceive.

The restaurant is very cozy and the service is very decent. The options for dinner are quite limited. We ordered the duck liver mousse to share and I had the black cod. Since some of us were still a bit hungry, we also had the fried potatoes. All of the dishes are quite delicious. The corn that came with the fish was very sweet and tasty. The bread was grilled perfectly and we even ordered more bread to pair with the mousse. My friends also love the lamb they ordered.

We had a group of 6 dine at The Redwood after attending a show at the HopMonk last week. The owner went out of his way to accommodate our dining preferences, making some great recommendations that highlighted their culinary talents. All the food was fantastic! Great flavors cooked to perfection. I never eat lamb, but their lamb was so good, I will next time I go back.

The octopus in squid ink was good.(Coming from someone that doesn't like octopus). The liver pate was a little overwhelming and needed more bread to use it all. The lamb cheek in polenta was not bad but had a little too much oil in it. Spent around 140 total which I think is a little too much without alcohol but it was reasonable for 5.5 people if the servings were a little bigger than the snacking size.If my first pick didn't have a 3 hr wait i would have not come. But I was caught off guard not being a local and all.If you have that nice wine budget to spend then it's a good place to hangout at and sip as a bar/lounge. But it is not a full restaurant in my opinion.

I'd prefer to keep this place to myself, yet, I wish for them to survive and succeed, so I suppose I should share that it is a welcome addition the the community! Just move right into top 5 around here.

We dropped in for lunch on the day of the bomb cyclone and despite the crazy weather, the staff served us some amazing food and really lifted our spirits. We started with a pitch-perfect tortilla (my husband fought me over the aioli), followed by perfectly-executed fried potatoes, two delicious and filling salads, and a ricotta tartine that disappeared fast. Bonus: their shrubs helped cure our hangovers and make the drive home through the rain bearable. Don't miss this place!

A Culinary Journey at the Redwood - Nestled in the heart of Sebastopol, the Redwood stands out as a beacon for those seeking an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance is welcoming and approachable, setting the stage for a menu par excellence. The menu, a masterpiece in itself, reflects the caliber of two chefs who possess an unparalleled comprehension of ingredients. Their craftsmanship in the composition of dishes and flavor profiles celebrates simplicity while inviting exploration. We began with the Route 1 Pita and Dips, a perfect shared starter. The dips highlighted an artful combination of flavors and textures which perfectly showcased the locally-made pita.Next, the Squash & Stracciatella - this dish, a true celebration of seasonal ingredients, demonstrating the chef's ability to elevate simplicity into something extraordinary. The freshness of the squash paired with the creamy Stracciatella created a delightful balance that left us craving for more. Our main course featured the Lamb Shank. Within the first bite, this dish made me wonder, “What on earth did humans do to deserve this incredible lamb?” The tenderness of the lamb is indescribable; I won't even try. The bright, herbaceous chermoula and warm spices create a beautiful flavor profile to showcase the star - that dang lamb. The finale of our meal was the Dark Chocolate Crémeux - rich and velvety chocolate, expertly balanced with complementary elements of burnt white chocolate, brûléed banana, and fig leaf whipped cream. A sublime conclusion to our meal. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Guests appeared to truly enjoy talking with the staff and owner who offer thoughtful suggestions and humble explanations. The Redwood provides an approachable culinary exploration through a thoughtfully crafted menu and heartfelt hospitality. What are you waiting for? Go, get that lamb!

Creative food, everything we tried was delicious. Original wine selection. Portions are small, like an appetizer, and each dish costs between $10-20.
