Jack Ranch Cafe has been our go-to stop On the way to and from Pismo. The food is great and the staff is very very friendly. Oh!!! The desserts are all home made . Cheesecakes , cobblers , pies. Today they had a choice of blueberry or Cherry cheese cake, Cherry Cobbler, lemon meringue and banana cream pie We always take ours to go because we are all to full after we eat their generous potions . I was just told today the owner talked about not renewing their lease this September . Hoping someone else will take it over and keep it open . Most of staff has worked there for over 20 years .

Excellent service; BLTA was delicious and so were the pancakes. All good was great, coffee was a bit weak for my taste.

If you’re traveling from Los Angeles to Monterey, this is a very good dining option on the way. There are not many dining options on route 46 but this is a very good one. The staff was very friendly. we shared a burrito grande which was probably enough food for three or four people. The kids had quesadilla and fries and they appeared to enjoy that very much. The bathrooms are clean and there’s plenty of free parking outside. If you like independent, family friendly diners, this is the place to eat.

This place is amazing! Visually it looks like a cute country diner and the food is so delicious(I've eaten a lot of bland diner food in my life). The staff are wonderful people, especially Kris. We had such a wonderful conversation with her before we got back on the road. I didn't recognize it at first, we just thought let's give it a try. After walking in I realized it was the same place we always stopped at for breakfast on our trips to the coast when I was a kid. You won't be disappointed with the food, I guarantee it. They are only open for breakfast and lunch so you have to get there by 1pm. We ordered their BLT and 2 Chicken Enchiladas w/ beans and rice plate. Next time we are making it a point to get there early enough for breakfast(they stop serving breakfast @ 11am).

Lovely people, charming building, defiant right wing political screeds. Worst coffee I've had in years--but at least it's weak. Not a vegetable, other than potatoes, to be found. If you like steak and eggs, you'll love the food. I was told that the biscuits and gravy are good, but we didn't sample them.

Great little spot ! Food was excellent and so was the service. We learned all about James Dean also. Would definitely return !

An adorable little place that is great to stop off and get lunch before heading to the coast. There is a memorial to James Dean and they serve quality food at good prices.

Highly recommend a good old fashioned burger... this has been a regular stop for me for many many years...I always stop, even if it's just a cup of coffee....

Came here for breakfast on the way to the coast. Very cold inside and rustic ambiance with "character" as the menu says. Lots of James Dean memorabilia. Food was fine. Staff was nice. I had the corn beef and hash.

We love coming here in the way home or too the beach from Bakersfield. All their food is really good but you must try their biscuits and Gravy and their pies!

Great breakfast and lunch options at affordable prices. The atmosphere is themed with James Dean memorabilia and makes for a must stop destination. The staff were incredible friendly and genuine. You have to stop here is passing by!
