Their hours are not updated. They cost me a 90 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back. Very unprofessional. It’s the 21st century
They started a renovation without updating their hours
And their website is still advertising taco Tuesday on a Tuesday instead of focusing on communicating the closure
This is my review of Anajak Thai in Sherman Oaks. I had high expectations for this place, but in my opinion, it didn’t live up to the hype.
We started with the Thai Fried Chicken, priced at $39 for six pieces. While the crunch and flavor were there, the chicken was slightly dry. If you need sauce to enjoy fried chicken, something feels off.
Next, we tried the Carabineros Prawn, which was $24. It consisted of a single large butterflied shrimp covered in a sauce that tasted overwhelmingly of the sea. For $24, I could’ve gotten a pound of shrimp, sausage, and corn with an amazing sauce at another spot (which I won’t name here).
The live Dungeness crab, served Pong Gari-style for $95, was also disappointing. For that price, I would’ve preferred a 3lb Szechuan garlic-style lobster from a local Chinese restaurant, which would have been more flavorful and just as costly.
Lastly, we ended with the mango sticky rice. While the rice was good, the mango wasn’t as sweet as I’ve had at other Thai restaurants.
The service was excellent, but the food fell short of what the glowing reviews led me to expect. Of course, this is just my experience from my first visit. Maybe we’ll give it another try someday.
Super overhyped restaurant.
If you want to dine with mice. Awfully dirty

This was the best Thai food I’ve had and lives up to the hype. The fried chicken was delicious as was the pad Thai and crab fried rice. IMO the masaman beef was the best dish. The portion sizes are ok and the prices are a bit high.
My criticism is in the seating. They have table set out in the sidewalk no enclosure. It was cold, noisy and uncomfortable. We felt they were taking advantage of their fame. The service was mixed we sat and waited for our order to be taken for a long time in spite of asking for a server many times.
I’m glad I tried it but I won’t be back.

I used to come here every week for taco Tuesday, but recently it has been tasting a little uninspiring. I love coming here because the food is delicious and tasted like passion, but now I feel like I could go get a better meal at another Thai spot, for a better price.
I hope the spark comes back because I truly do love coming here 🥲

We were there for the taco night. $275 for 3 people and we were served on paper plates with plastic cutlery in a little package. What a joke. Food was pretty plain, no wow dishes. It’s a pass from me.

My friend and I were really excited to try this place since it has been raved about. It think I wanted more from it then what was presented. We get sat outside, which honestly, they need to put more effort and design into it. It was folding tables and chairs with and a table cloth on it on the side of their building. They did have heaters though which I was happy about since it was a pretty cold night. We get the pork ribs(just ok), their Thai style fried chicken(really nothing special), short rib curry( this was actually really good) and the crab fried rice( this was pretty good.) I got a chance to go inside( to use the bathroom) it was cute inside! I think I might have had a better experience inside.

Wasn’t the best. This was our second time eating at Anajak. First time we had the fried chicken which was good. This time we wanted to try more of the menu. The issue is the menu is pretty difficult to know what you are ordering and in what portion it comes in. We tried the Pineapple ribs, drunken noodles, cauliflower and mushrooms, curry, and a bottle of wine. The ribs came out first, by themselves, and were dry and unappetizing. They sat on the table the rest of dinner. The noodles were similar to any fast casual Thai place. Veggies were okay but pretty bland. The curry was good though, we actually ate every bite of that. Overall the experience was nice, our severs were very friendly, and we enjoyed our time. The food was not on the same par level and due to that we will not be coming back.

Honestly this place was extremely average. I have seen the hype all over social media but it was simply ok. The portions were tiny and not packed with flavor, which is usually what you expect for a small plate. My friend is extremely allergic to peanuts. It was noted on my reservation and confirmed with our waiter before ordering. Peanuts came out twice in our food, once in the sauce and then the curry we were suggested to order was based fully in peanuts. May I add that no where on the menu do they state any allergies. We ordered fully based on recommendation. The staff didn’t seem to care or even act apologetic when we mentioned the errors and then just brought a different dish out. The only thing they did was comp the appetizer which was a $15 spring roll(had nothing to do with the food that was mistaken). Service could be better for such a big mistake that was made twice. If I hadn’t noticed the peanuts in the sauce and the peanuts in the curry, my friend would have been hospitalized tonight.
